What rides have you been stuck on when they broke down?

In relation to Disney Parks but not specific to a single resort

I'm feeling a bit left out on this one. I've had a couple of rides stop for a moment (usually the omnimover rides that stop regularly when it takes someone too long to load/unload on the moving platforms), but I've never actually been evacuated from a ride.

I've come close a few times, though.

I was in line for Big Thunder Mountain at Disneyland Paris a few years ago with my brother and dad, we were at the gate waiting to get on the very next train (after waiting nearly an hour!) when the ride broke down and they started an evac. That was somewhat annoying :P

I had a similar thing on Splash at MK a couple of years earlier. We were nearly at the loading platform when they started an evac and walked us out of the queue.

I've had the Carousel of Progress stop in the wrong place a few times, which is always fun. I recall the cast member outside describing the way the attraction works as: "Sometimes it moves too far, sometimes it doesn't move far enough and sometimes it just doesn't move at all"

I've been stuck on Splash Mountain twice, once I had to evacuate. I've also been stuck on Dinosaur for a while, but we were in the probably the only spot in the whole ride where you saw nothing impressive when they turned the lights on, we saw a wall in a corner and that's it.

I've never been stuck on a Disney attraction, but my step-sister and her family were stuck on Splash near the end for well over an hour. I want to say it was something like an hour and 45 minutes!! Can you imagine listening to "Zip-a-dee-doo-dah" for that long?

Just had a thought.. I lied in my last post

I was evacuated from Universe of Energy a couple of years ago.

It wasn't overly exciting, to be honest. Just as the ride set off from the first room into the dinosaur scene, we got just into the dinosaur room, and the ride stopped. After a couple of minutes, they came and opened the doors on the cars and directed us back outside (through the normal exit, since we were basically still in that room).

See, told you it wasn't really exciting (which is probably why I forgot about it)

I don't know why, but I suddenly remembered about that while thinking about something completely unrelated. My brain works in mysterious ways like that.

Bummer. It would have been pretty cool to be stuck further into the dinosaur room and been able to walk out through that scene! :D

Been stuck on HM before for 45 mins with Grim, Grinning, Ghosts going almost the whole time. Annoying to say the least.

Was stuck on a Monorail for more than an hour. Even more annoying than being stuck on HM.

Which part of the mansion were you stuck in? I've heard some people have been stuck in the attic before with the screaming popping-up ghost ~ that would be awful! :hm_ghost:

Pirates is another one that is fun to be stuck in. Soooo much to see that you miss. And you can really appreciate the detail of the work that Disney strives for. :D :goofy:

The only bummer about getting stuck is losing the time it takes while they are getting the ride up and running, or deciding to evacuate :(
