It's not really fruity... I would say it's comperable to a product like Mountain Dew.

Nothing is wrong with it, I just don't care for it...although there is a blood orange Italian soda that is pretty tasty.

We just bought one of the Chef Mickey books at Downtown Disney. Tonight I'm making Crescent City Salmon Salad from Cafe Orleans in Disneyland.

Will post recipe if it is good.

Hmmm, sounds interesting...does it involve crescent rolls?

Adding onto the Flame Tree theme I have, here is the Flame Tree Barbeque Rub

1 cup sugar
1/4 cup Lawry's seasoning salt
2 tablespoons paprika
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 tablespoons black pepper
2 tablespoons cumin
2 tablespoons garlic salt
2 teaspoons onion powder

Mix all ingredients and apply to meat 2 to 3 hours before cooking. Do not leave rub on overnight, it will dry out the meat.
We are all a little weird
And life's a little weird,
And when we find someone whose
Weirdness is compatible with ours,
We join up with them and fall in
Mutual weirdness and call it Love.”

Nope, its a green salad w/ some interesting add-ins (grapes, corn, etc.) with salmon on top. I will report back w/ the recipe after we eat it.

Never tried flame tree bbq, but that is a very middle of the road rub. If you want to make it at home I strongly suggest replacing white sugar with brown, it gives it a better flavor. It seems like it might be a little bland though since the only heat will come from the pepper.

YUM! I love their barbeque there. Haven't been in ages but might have to go back next month.

I would imagine they are the same and come from a single bake shop.

Kona Cafe Sweet Bread

Post by disneylizzy » Jun Wed 22, 2011 8:07 am

Kona Cafe Sweet Bread

Pineapple Sweet Bread ingredients:

1 cup warm pineapple juice
2 tbsp active dry yeast
1/2 cup sugar
3 eggs at room temperature
4 tbsp margarine softened
4 3/4 cup all purpose flour
pinch of salt

Macadamia Honey Butter ingredients:

1/2 cup salted butter softened
1/2 cup salted margarine softened
2 tbsp honey
4 macadamia nuts

Bread Directions:
1. Combine warm pineapple juice & yeast in the bowl of an electric mixer. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy. Add sugar, eggs and margarine, and mix with the paddle attachment on an electric mixer.
2. Combine flour and salt in a separate bowl. Add half the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix on low speed. Remove bowl from mixer and add remaining flour mixture. Stir with a wooden spoon until dough comes together and the flour is completely incorporated.
3. Cover bowl with a slightly damp towel and allow dough to rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
4. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and divide into 4 portions. Form each portion into a ball and place on a baking sheet. Cut an "X" about 1/2 inch deep into the top of each ball.
5. Cover dough with towel and let rise again for 45 minutes in the warmest part of the kitchen. *After 30 minutes has passed, preheat oven to 375
6. Bake bread loaves for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve warm with macadamia butter.

Butter Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350. Finely chop macadamia nuts and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 6 minutes until toasted. Remove nuts from the baking sheet and cool.
2. Beat butter and margarine until creamy with an electric mixer fitted with a whip attachment. Add chopped macadamia nuts and honey, mix well. Serve at room temperature.

Lizzy's Notes:
Make the butter while the bread is doing the first rise.
For the butter, its okay if you just mix it by hand w/o a mixer, just make sure butter & margarine are soft enough for easy mixing. You can refrigerate butter while bread bakes.

Enjoy!!
