Both, outside companies selling their food in the parks has been there since the start and saying that magic phrase seems to shut down any arguments against change with the fans.

I don't think the "Commercialization of the parks" is something to really be worried about- as far as I can remember and clearly beyond that the parks have always been super commercialized. Ever listen to the old CoP? "Well, thank the Heavens for those good people at GE!!! I can't live without my General Electric... and the General Electric....oh and did I tell you about my General Electric...?" And ironically one of my fave attractions as a kid was Delta's Dreamflight...which was a full ad for Delta.
There are logos emblazoned on every attraction and most restaurants. As long as they don't take a step back with the whole attraction being a total promo for something....
