You're right, Packwingfn!

The name was originally going to commemorate America going into it's 3rd century as an independent nation, but then the Imagineers realized that it wasn't going to be only Americans going to the attraction, so they changed it.

from the top of my head, I think it's 3 attractions were open. I'm pretty sure they were the Tiki Room (original version), Jungle Cruise, and the swiss treehouse.

The only three attractions that were operational on Opening Day in 1971 were the Swiss Family Treehouse, The Jungle Cruise, and the Tropical Serenade.
