Yeh, horizons1, I agree with that - but when you look at the current Imagination Pavilion - doesn't it seem to have an appalling lack of imagination that went into creating it? I agree with boilerbabe, the whole thing needs to be "reimagined" from top to bottom. The original ride has more imagination than the current ride!

I think I'm disliking what Disney does more and more. It's becoming really hard for me to be happy with the changes Disney makes.
Now don't get me wrong, I LOVED Captain EO. I would be happy to see it again. In fact, I wouldn't even mind seeing the crazy acid trip Magic Journeys again. That said, Captain EO should be limited viewing of just a few months. I hate how Disney rides the "What's popular now" wave as opposed to making waves like they used to with their own unique amazing attractions (Everest, Splash, or something like Spider-man from IoA). What sucks more is Disney gets away with it in the short term but it doesn't last for the long term and then it gets neglected. Anyways, back to my point: I'd like to see Captain EO again but hope it doesn't stay there for years and years. How can Disney drop 6 BILLION on Marvel and not spend 30-50 Million to update our 3D movies AND make different ones for Tomorrowland DLR and Imagination EPCOT?

I can understand why they make the same ones for DLR Tomorrowland and EPCOT Imagination - the ole' economy of scales thing. Developing the same attraction for two parks splits the cost between the parks, making it more affordable. Like they did with Splash Mountain - it was developed for TDL and DLR at the same time. And Toy Story Midway Mania was developed for both DLR CA and WDW DHS. And doing this goes back to the days of Walt himself - when DLR's Haunted Mansion ride was finally made, everything was duplicated and the second set was stored away for Florida's WDW MK.

I agree with Sub on this...it's ok for a few months, but something better really needs to go there. I too loved EO and would like to see it 1 more time on the big screen, but I hope it's not drawn out.
I completely understand the concept of opening the same attractions in both parks, however, the more they do that, the less imaginative everything feels.

This is why in another thread I suggested bringing in an abbreviated version of Horizons to replace the Imagination ride. Horizons was always the most imaginative attraction to me anyway.mindflipper wrote:Yeh, horizons1, I agree with that - but when you look at the current Imagination Pavilion - doesn't it seem to have an appalling lack of imagination that went into creating it? No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.
