With all due respect to Eo and MJ lovers everywhere, my reaction to the return of Captain Eo can be summed up best by quoting my cat:

"Hurk... hurk... huuuuuuurkkkk.....!!!!!" (hairball)

In Epcot's HISTA theater, there should be a completely new show. And not another 4D movie, something different. It is the Imagination pavilion, after all.
No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.

Yeh, horizons1, I agree with that - but when you look at the current Imagination Pavilion - doesn't it seem to have an appalling lack of imagination that went into creating it? I agree with boilerbabe, the whole thing needs to be "reimagined" from top to bottom. The original ride has more imagination than the current ride!

For both HISTAs it should be completely new. Since EO's a limited engagement at DLR, I think it'd be nice if something much different were to be put in after EO is gone.

I think I'm disliking what Disney does more and more. It's becoming really hard for me to be happy with the changes Disney makes.
Now don't get me wrong, I LOVED Captain EO. I would be happy to see it again. In fact, I wouldn't even mind seeing the crazy acid trip Magic Journeys again. That said, Captain EO should be limited viewing of just a few months. I hate how Disney rides the "What's popular now" wave as opposed to making waves like they used to with their own unique amazing attractions (Everest, Splash, or something like Spider-man from IoA). What sucks more is Disney gets away with it in the short term but it doesn't last for the long term and then it gets neglected. Anyways, back to my point: I'd like to see Captain EO again but hope it doesn't stay there for years and years. How can Disney drop 6 BILLION on Marvel and not spend 30-50 Million to update our 3D movies AND make different ones for Tomorrowland DLR and Imagination EPCOT?

I can understand why they make the same ones for DLR Tomorrowland and EPCOT Imagination - the ole' economy of scales thing. Developing the same attraction for two parks splits the cost between the parks, making it more affordable. Like they did with Splash Mountain - it was developed for TDL and DLR at the same time. And Toy Story Midway Mania was developed for both DLR CA and WDW DHS. And doing this goes back to the days of Walt himself - when DLR's Haunted Mansion ride was finally made, everything was duplicated and the second set was stored away for Florida's WDW MK.

I agree with Sub on this...it's ok for a few months, but something better really needs to go there. I too loved EO and would like to see it 1 more time on the big screen, but I hope it's not drawn out.

I completely understand the concept of opening the same attractions in both parks, however, the more they do that, the less imaginative everything feels. :(

Awesome! I think this is a great time to revive an old classic.

This is why in another thread I suggested bringing in an abbreviated version of Horizons to replace the Imagination ride. Horizons was always the most imaginative attraction to me anyway.

You know, it wouldn't be a bad idea to create a theater just to play a rotating schedule of all the old movies shown in WDW and DL. Could be cool.

Yeah, only with the capability to screen all of the past movies. It would be a cheap and easy attraction for Disney plus it would be great for all of us old timers.
