Rode it this last Tuesday.
We got to California Adverture and joined the gathered crowd right at rope opening, but still had to wait about one hour to ride. My wife and I both thought it was awesome. Well worth the wait. It totally got me involved and got me to lose focus on my surroundings. I was brought back to reality, though, when the car moved. It started and stopped moving very quickly. More so than it should have I think. On a blow my mind scale, it was probably about a 7. BUT, it did get me thinking about what might (and hopefully will) be coming to home theater and home gaming.
After 1. touring Innoventions this last week (finally got to ride a Segway!), 2. watching the Harry Potter marathon 4th of July weekend (on ABC Family), I got to thinking, what is taking so long for high-tech, available-now, futuristic stuff to be in homes NOW?!?!?!? And cheaply, I might add.
For instance, in Harry Potter, in the dorms, all the painting are moving pictures. Well, we have digital picture frames. Why can't they display mpeg videos as well as pictures? And what is taking sooooo long for LCDs to become super cheap? I want my 24"x40" digital picture display/painting! At Innoventions, they also had (I believe it's Microsoft's baby) a touch screen coffee table. One of the ohs and ahs was their ability to have photo-realistic copies of priceless, one-of-a-kind books. Well, I want priceless works of art displaying on my nicely framed LCD(or Plasma or equally awesome resolution) display in my living room. Why is this taking so long? Am I going to have to start my own company to get this going? I hope this ranting makes sense.
Seriously though, it's taking sooooo long for the future to get here.
As for 3-D gaming. What the heck? Cheap glasses. Known ways to program*. Get with it already!
Before I forget, they still seemed to be having problems with the ride. At least one of the screen areas?/car positions was having display trouble. They had to not load the cars in those positions. Otherwise, good show.
Also, is Potato Head manned, or is it completely AI?
* Not a programmer, but I play one on TV.

Rode it and got video of the track switches and pictures of various things inside. I also got 177,700 points as my highest score so far. My brother got 185,300 as his highest score. The monthly highest is 326,700 which is held by one of the CMs. I can't even break 200,000 so obviously they know more than we do.

It is definitely a great ride. I was glad to break 200,000 when I rode it. I noticed that in early July the ride vehicles were starting to show wear on them. The chords that you pull on were starting to come undone. Other than that, I was impressed with the track set up. It is amazing to see all those little switches and to have the added thrill of those sharp turns. I just hope I didn't break the cord I was pulling on it so fast and hard!

I rode it back in the summer and had to wait about 45 minutes to ride it. It was pretty cool, but I really didn't have much of a desire to ride it when I went back in December because the lines were so long. There are some rides that I would endure long wait times on (i.e Rock n' Rollercoaster) and others that I will only ride if the wait time is just right. On my next trip, I will definately ride it again if the line is under an hour long.

It's definitely worth getting up for the Morning Extra Magic hours for this one!
I didn't pay that close of attention to my points - other than that I'm a beaver! I don't know why they don't sell the stuffed animals (real, not virtual!) at the store.
My favorite parts were all the hidden tricks. I loved getting wet by hitting the blue cloud balloons (Bo-Peep). Oh, and if you hit all the blue cloud balloons, the whole scene changes and it starts raining balloons!
Any other tips?

In the Summers in Disneyland the wait times are in the 45-60 minute range. I know that people tend to give up if the line is out of the queue, I know I do. I haven't been to WDW version yet but from what I hear it is an insane wait in the summer. This is one ride that if you want to ride it over and over you better have friends that will give you Fastpass'.

Rode it in October - unfortunately it was over Columbus Day week-end and it was quite busy. Best plan if you want to ride more than once, go straight to it first thing in the morning and get FP, save those til much later in the day, get in the regular line around 1 pm. It seemed a lot of guests had left by then.

bluebayougirl wrote:I saw a Disney 365 preview of this ride the other day. I have to say that I was a little dissapointed. It looks alot like the buzz lightyear ride with but with different Toy Story characters and instead of shooting targets, you shoot balloons and rings. I was hoping for a little more imagination on this one. - blue
That's the same thing I thought! I was hoping for something new and different. Where is all the creative imagineering at?
