I would definitely bring back the original Imagination. If I could bring more than one thing back, I'd bring back Horizons and World of Motion too. I loved the old Future World.
And I totally agree, sub. We need a new E Ticket ride with full attention to detail!

That too. All the more reason for me to haul myself out there! *shakes mighty fist*spaulo wrote:And we have Mr. Toad!
I would love to see a new full blown, dark, possibly in boats or other vehicles, animatronic-laden, video-screen free e ticket ride, but I've almost given up hoping for one... *fingers crossed for 'revamped' SSE*

Those were exactly what I was going to say too.Definitley Journey Into Imagination and Horizons, they were like the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean of epcot. Plus that JII turntable was ahead of its time and defintiley has/still would have had a 'wow' effect for me, same with the 'choose your own tomorrow' ending from Horizons.

I agree with mosts of the posts, here. I would go back to the original JII, as well as the original Tiki Room. There;s a couple other changes I would make, not necessarily going back to the way they were but to the ideas that they had. Take innovations for example. When the change was first made from communicore to innovations they actually had new innovations in technology to show off. That was a great idea that could have been updated every few years keeping with embracing new technology.
Please keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle until the ride comes to a full and complete stop. Thank you, and enjoy the rest of your day here at Walt Disney World.
I'm with Cheshire Cat on this one. Imagination and Horizons were so great the way they were. I hate to sound too critical but the new imagination is totally lame. Points for bringing Figment back but unfortunately, imagination is a shining example of the later Eisner years. Bigger, faster, cheaper... with an emphasis on the latter.

Ugh... figment 2.0...
I'd rather ride Journey Into Your Imagination than Journey Into Imagination with Figment (2.0)
Minus points for altering his personality. The new one is less imaginative than the inbetween version. It might as well be called "Journey in the Five Senses with Figment". They don't even seem to understand that throwing in a million figments isn't the point, it's the story and the characters that made the original so great.
"Can they imagine too?" v. "I know all about the five senses!"

Hmmm... I went on the ride a long time ago and I'm not sure which one I saw. I'm thinking it may be the Journey Into Your Imagination ride rather than the Journey Into Imagination with Figment. Which one had the mirrors that judged your creativity?Cheshire Cat wrote:Ugh... figment 2.0...

Journey Into Your Imagination featured "the imagination scanner". I think that's what you're thinking of. It measured your imagination, which at the begining of the ride was always nothing and then miraculously through some "experiments" your imagination miraculously becomes powerful enough breaks the scanner. As stupid as that storyline was, I think it was little better than the new one even if it did exclude figment. I think the whole "Imagination Institute" theme has to go.

I like how when they re-tooled the ride to cram Figment 2.0 back in, they left the 'gust' effect they had for breaking the machines too </sarcasm>. In the middle incarnation, it made sense (sort of) - scanner breaks, big gust of air. Now it's like - many Figments appear, AH I can't breathe in the wind wth?!Cheshire Cat wrote:and then miraculously through some "experiments" your imagination miraculously becomes powerful enough breaks the scanner.
I don't mind the Imagination Institute themeing; I actually kind of like how they tried to make the ride and Honey I Shrunk the Audience fit better together, however, given my druthers, I'd prefer they changed the show to fit the ride than the other way around (I -loved- the original ride, intensely disliked the middle version as it seemed half-finished to me, and am tepid on the current incarnation).
I think the Institute idea is actually sound, but the implementation of it ... well they wouldn't break their own imagination meter there.
