I don't want to complete Eisner bash here, he did have a great influence and did create a lot of good, but towards the end, there were just so many bad choices.

Now under Iger they do seem to be focusing efforts to right the ship. But jacca is right, this is not an overnight process and will take time and a lot of resources. I think we have to look at the encouraging signs, like the fact the Nemo Submarine Ride in DL was like way over budget, not from delays but cause Lasseter was not happy and made the right changes budget be darn. Its also refreshing that Disney realizes that DCA is a wreck and has committed 1.1B, yes billion to fixing the park. I didn't see that happen pre-Iger.

Will everything be perfect, no that's just silly. It will never be perfect, but having Disney strive for perfection is a the point. They need to restore the Disney philosophy that made Disney synonymous with quality.

The great rdeacon has spoken :clap:clap: pay attention or suffer the consequences. :D But seriously Rich brings up several great points. Disney was at its lowest point recently and only now are we starting to see a resurgence. DL started its upswing during the 50th, where a simple touching up of the paint and simple upgrades and needed ride maintenance proved to be thing they needed to bring up the attendance. WDW's upswing, IMHO, started when they did Nemo. Yes I loved The Living Seas it was educational and it fit in with futureworld very well, BUT Nemo is just as educational. Just now you have Crush teaching you things as well as the staff. Then of course the upgrades to HM were really a jump in the right direction, and soon Space Mountain will get its much needed work.

So Disney is definitely heading in the right direction. I just hope they can keep this going, and going, and going, and so on and so forth.

Simply being "educational" doesn't make something fit into Future World.

Anyway, it's interesting that Disneyland has been getting some TLC for some time now, but it seems that WDW is still a political backwater. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with its proximity to all the bigwigs, but another big factor is that WDW hasn't had a champion like Al Lutz, reporting on every little thing that happens and constantly namedropping Disney employees. I'm sure one way to make people pay attention to you is to ensure that if they Google their own name, they get hundreds of hits on your site!

I am absolutely saying that the Nemo dark ride and the Nemo theme have nothing to do with the future, yes.

Pixarland? Don't you mean Todayland!? If this picture is any indication as to what synergy Disney might be planning for Tomorrowland next:

I hope Space Mounatain isn't egtting a movie overlay. I think the SM refurb is really important to Tomorrowland. Depending on how the refurb does, we'll know in which direction Tomorrowland, and the entire Disney company, is heading.

Todayland? From some of the things that have been done or not done or removed, it should read "YESTERDAYLAND!"

ok captian clueless, first of all, the entire pavillion has everything to do with the future!!! especially the original concept of it. The building and everything in it is a working lab!!! They are studying the animals and plenty of other ocean aspects there. The crush talk teaches everyone, children and adults about the ocean, Whos cares if it was a boring CM or a trurtle from a movie telling it? By using Crush it's more ENTERTAINING!!! that is something the living seas was lacking. The ride sucks people in as well. Without a ride the pavillion was pretty boring. Even the original ride there was boring a loop around the same aquarium you were about to walk and see...YIPPY!!!SOunds like fun!!!! NOT!!! The ride itself is fun! very bright and great technology used. Seeing the animated fish in the actual aquarium is great! Will you please stop complaining already, you sound like a grunmp old man who tells stories about walking 5 miles in the snow to get to school. Like I said before, things change, sometimes for the better, sometimes not...get over it. :hm_ghost: :hatter_bounce:

Go look up the word "future". There's really nothing to debate here.

are you serious?? then nothing in the park should be there!!!! Living with the land....all happening now...Soarin'....not even close to teh future...UoE, now, test track, now....want me to continue???? even SE, past, and now...granted we dont know the updated parts yet, but thats what it was...even Space is kinda now, we may not have humans on mars, btu we've sent plenty of other crafts there...so, tell me again how the seas doesnt fit?? Even the old rides, WOM was a history of motion, horizons was the only true ride to look at the future.

ok, when things go this far, we cut off the thread. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. Captain Schnemo has his, in which he (and many others here and on the web) feels that the original version of a pavillion was better than the current incarnation. no need to get offended by his (or anyone else's) thoughts on the matter.

anything more, and the thread will be locked.

thats fine about opinions, but i felt when he told me to look up the word future that was a direct shot at me, which is why i responded the way I did. If it offended anyone i apologize, those were not my intentions, I just fell that some people have tunnel vision about what should be in a park, and I know there is no use in trying to get them to cange their mind. Once again, I am sorry if I upset anyone.

I'm almost afraid to get back into this thread (though it's been a great read), but this intrigued me.

It's funny someone made that kind of an image because as I was watching Meet the Robinsons the other day (which was surprisingly enjoyable), I was thinking the kind of future they had depicted would have been a nice direction for Tomorrowland (minus the Todayland sign, of course). The bubble transporters and the sort of ... art deco of the future design elements I thought were in good keeping with the Buck Rogers-ish design I so enjoyed about the previous 'space port' redesign of the land. But the odds of getting anything like bubble transporters - well a bubble transporters ride ;) - are pretty remote, I suppose.

That said, if Space Mountain gets a Meet the Robinsons, or any kind, of movie overlay, I will weep openly. >_< I actually don't want a 'movie' overlay for TL at all... it was just the design aesthetic from MtR that appealed to me, and gave hope that someone in the company might still be able to think up 'fantastical future stuff' if they put their minds to it.
