I can't believe that someone actually thought to take a picture on Soarin'. That cracks me up.

I think it's partly because I have this mental image now of those people at a normal movie, being all "LOOK IT'S HARRISON FORD! *snap*". Them new fangled movin' pictures are a marvel.

I've been lucky and haven't had anyone take pictures in Soarin, even though I've been on 40+ times. Maybe the picture taking is more a WDW than a DL thing?

Hi again. I know I've already posted on this topic but I couldn't resist getting in on the whole flash photography thing. Personally I've noticed that most people tend to think these days that "no flash pictures please" is more part of the spiel of the ride/show/attraction and not an actual safety warning. Especially when you consider that at the CBVH in DL it actually became part of the show!("And that goes for everybody Wendell!") Anyway, just the idea that somehow no one is going to notice a large flash of light in a small, dark enclosed space is ridiculous so you gotta wonder who these people think they're fooling.

On a side note: I've also noticed when people try to take a picture of a projected image they get that 'blank slate' image. Not neccessarily at a Disney park but anywhere they use curved screens, (such as an observatory). It really does freak people out sometimes. Oh well. Til later, peace.

i agree with so many of these. i dunno if anyone mentioned these two, also, though:

people who walk, side by side, in large numbers (like a group of 5 that insists on walking arm-in-arm even on narrow paths), and, of course, they're always reeeeaaaaallllllly slow...so you have to walk behind them until the path gets wider.

also, another peeve: parents that go to a restaurant or counter service area and let their kids run wild. a few trips back, we were at the abc commissary at mgm, as it was known then, and this family had about 4 kids. the kids kept running around our table and actually knocked over a chair that had a lot of our stuff on it. they also threw things while playing over our heads. the smallest one, who must have been a year and a half, at most, grabbed my hand and sat on the floor next to me while i was eating. sure, they were cute, but nonetheless it was really annoying. the parents were having a grand old time while we were basically babysitting their children.

not only were the parents extremely rude, but with all of the abduction stories you hear these days (thankfully none are from disney, but still) you'd think they'd keep a closer watch! they were totally oblivious to the whereabouts of their children.

phew, sorry for the rant lol...

I have a pet peeve, that I actually just remembered, lol.

One time, while waiting in line for the Great Movie Ride, a guest with a Guest Assistance card comes up to the cast member in the preview room, and the cast member asks how many in the party. The person goes, "30" and we were like O_O.

A family, a few friends I can understand, but seriously, 30 people in your party? That's amazingly ridiculous.

The cast member let all 30 guests go ahead to the loading dock. It was probably because he couldn't do anything about it.

Another time, my roommate told me that a guest walks up to him with a Guest Assistance card and says, "Here, I don't want to wait in line."

So, I'm saying a pet peeve of mine is when guests abuse the system like that, making the regular guests wait even longer.
"A pirate in irons be full o' guile.
And the blackest 'art wears the broadest smile."

Oh, and "Welcome Home."

Good lord YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have people do that all the time everywhere I go. Generally if I am with my friend Andrew we plow through them for fun (I have images of people flying in the air when I do it, but that never happens).

When I was younger if I ran around my parents would have hit me, and I knew it. Granted kids can't be perfect all the time, they do have to go crazy sometimes. But when they are running around and then bump into someone and keep going....... they need to be taught not to run around in large crowds, that is a simple as I can put that.

Unfortunately I know exactly what you are talking about. I have seen some....um....stuff while at Disney. That is up there on the list.

drravenscroft, lol, people flying...that's what they get for imitating the rockettes at a theme park

there would have been major hell to pay if i acted that way...of course, i don't agree that that's ok to scare your kids, etc., but there are ways to control them at least (example: we're going back to the room right now and getting a babysitter for you if you keep acting up...and actually do it sometime so they know you mean business).

i don't blame the kids, of course...they don't know better--they're just having fun. in the one year old's case, she was just looking for some adult attention, which her parents should have been supplying.

So true...major annoyance when kids are running around wild and cutting in lines. Cheshire's comments brought back a lot of [unsavory] memories of effective forms of punishment that I went through whenever I did the same things.

Stroller Commandos!! The backs of my legs were bruised after only an hour in MK. The scary part - it was not crowded but lots of psycho stroller pilots.

DON"T ACTUALLY DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best thing to do at that point, if you are getting hit from behind, is to fall backwards onto the stroller. There will be lots of yelling and screaming but it will definitely stop them from doing it again. Plus if they get p*** at you just threaten to sue them for knocking you down.

In all honesty I love to mess with the stroller folk that get too aggressive. I will slow down and make them "go around me" and then speed up when they get next to me, especially if there are people coming from the opposite way.

WOW, I have a lot of pet peeves in WDW that I have nowhere else. I am going to sounds like an easily irritated person as I list these, but I really am easy-going. I think because I know my way around WDW and have my plans in mind, everybody who does not move at my pace just seems clueless. I do not mean to sound like a gripe bc I am not......

Taking flash photographs on dark rides. (unless the CM intentionally puts you in a boat by yourself to allow you to do this)

Ppl hooting and hollaring on rides like POTC, Soarin', IASW, etc

PPl stopping in the middle of the walkway (like to look at a map or point at a bird in the tree)
Execption to this rule: Kid drops something or you look behind you and nobody is there, you stop to take a picture and then ppl are coming up behind you. Not your fault then. ;)

People that have to walk 5 - 10 wide in an already crowded walkway.

Parents that will keep their scared children in an attraction instead of taking them out. Poor kid.

Parents that drag their small kids around the park when they are hot, hungry and tired and remind them how much the trip cost.

Ppl who pretend to no longer understand English so that they do not have to follow the rules.

well a lot of them have been covered but...

1 - "Placeholders" in line, especially in the longer more windey ques. I can understand if your kid has to go to the bathroom after waiting 20 minutes in line, and you don't want to lose your spot, but when dad's standing their holding a spot for his wife and 5 teenage kids who were just "shopping" at the botique next to the ride, and they all come charging through the line to get to the placeholder... yeesh.

2 - Stroller Nazis - Already covered

3 - Child haters - Yes, Child Haters. Those who go to Disney (Specifically, Magic Kingdom) and then complain about there being too many kids around.

4 - Fat people on ECV's because they don't feel like walking - Okay, I am a large guy. I don't have a 6 pack, i have about 2 kegs. But I will NEVER stoop down to riding an ECV just because I am large. Now, I know alot of them have disabilities other then just being big, and I usually excuse the elderly. But those without canes, walkers, and I watch get up out of their ECV to walk over and dual-hand ice cream cones can all go to the bad place (you know, Universal Studios  ).

5 - "Oh just let kids be kids" Parents - I know, kinda hippocratic when compared to the Child Haters but... We have a 7 year old with a severe case of ADD. (Not the simple can't do homework, an actual chemical imbalance that at times causes her to freak out and get violent if she is not on her medication) and she has never ONCE thrown a fit, gotten disorderly, ran around in que lines, swung on the ropes, spit on other people, or any of that while at WDW. Because we keep a tight rope on her, while still letting her have her fun. She knows how to act properly, and we know how to intervene when she is starting to bug out. And that was just to point out that if we can do that and have a well behaved mentally-handicapped child, whyc an't parents of "normal" kids stop their children from running around screaming pushing/hitting other people, swining on ropes, etc? "kids will be kids" is NOT an excuse when your son just bowled over my daughter beacuse he was being out of control.

6 - Flash Photography on Rides - Enough said

7 - Talking on a cell phone on rides - At times i lament the creation of those danged things

I have to agree, but with one more condition. If the other person is bringing back food from a snack cart (not a full meal, there is a difference). I know the feeling when standing in line and you start getting that old rumble in the gut.

I don't hate kids I just dislike them breathing.....
