Kodak still makes digital cameras for home and commercial use as well as digital photo processing in stores and in home. But odds are they pulled out, like everyone else, simply because they realize that adverts for huge companies don't do much there.

we saw some "suits" walking around in front of Capt EO last week, I stopped them and asked how long they were going to keep it..."for as long as it's poplular" was the answer. I looked around, NO ONE was going inside.. I was kinda feeling cheeky and told them it was a waste of space and to get their Imagineers in gear and get something NEW and exciting in there. THey just politely smiled.

Your mistake was not asking for their definition of "popular". You naturally assumed they meant for as long as it was popular with the masses; however, they could have meant as long as it was popular with the "suits" in the company to keep it around instead of spending money on something new. I beat the idea of being cheapskates is real popular with them.

It wouldn't surprise if in the next 3 years they shut down both the ride and movie, and the building becomes shuddered like WoL is currently. Then eventually demolished to make way for something else like they did with Horizons.

Congrats on being brave enough to ask and then actually tell them to do something...anything! When they smiled politely, did you notice if the corner of their eye was twitching at the same time

If I recall, the original plan was to use it as filler until the new movie/show was ready (hence it being a limited engagment tribute) but if Kodak has totally left then the new movie may be on hold.

Thanks for the info!

Interesting that it's deserted there.

When we were there in December the theater was probably 3/4 full...

If you go by disneyland you can see it's usually less than 1/4 full.

Ah, the fad begins to quickly fade (far, far quicker than the first time around)...

Took less than a week at Disneyland from what I remember. Though this time they made a lot more stuff to buy, the only problem was that people made their own stuff (shirts and whatnot) so they weren't going to buy a disney made version of it.

I'm sure that difference has a lot to do with the tourist heavy WDW vs. the local heavy DL. Obviously this isn't an attraction that many people are going to feel strongly about seeing multiple times.
Can't wait to take my twin boys on their first trip to Walt Disney World! Planning on heading there sometime Feb-May 2014!

Sounds similar to the Pocahantas Syndrome. That merchandise sat in the stores unwanted and untouched. I wonder when the 50% sale of Captain Eo merchandise begins at DLR?

I just don't get it - the whole Capt EO.. I'm sure I'm opening up a can of worms and I mean, no disrespect to the dead...but MJ and/at DL in the first place? Really? Even when it was really popular back in the mid to late 80's, we might go see it every other visit type of thing. Obviously not a MJ fan, I know. sorry if I offended anyone.

I just think they could be so much more creative! They have a great venue available....and the most talented people in the world. They could have created an amazing Tron type of thing, would have worked perfectly in Tomorrowland.
I'm also never afraid to talk to the "suits" ;), what have a I got to lose, right?

I've said it a million times...and I will keep saying it...

"Meet the Robinsons" is one of the best Disney movies in the past 15-20 years. It was a movie that had Walt all over it. I am rarely for putting the films in the parks...but having some kind of 3D film that uses "Meet the Robinsons" as its theme would fit in perfectly in DLR's Tomorrowland AND Epcot's Imagination Pavilion.

"Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious... and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths." - Walt Disney

At least it would fit better in the current theming than Captain Eo does...
