Movies, TV, music, and more. Here's the place to talk about anything Disney outside of the parks.

Huge Animation Art Auction

Post by Wizzard419 » Jul Tue 30, 2013 7:24 pm

Looks like Disney is putting up a bunch of animation stuff as well as theme park items for auction tomorrow.

Best one, the maquette for Temple of the Forbidden Eye, which was then turned into a board game.

I'll be on a plane tomorrow morning, so I have absentee bids in for two items...

Some of those are amazing. The film reels of the old projections in HM are very cool. Also...the original painting of one of the portraits in the stretching room was cool.

Now is when I wish I had about $100k to throw around and spend on things like this. And of course a place to put all of it.

The old projections seem to be hit and miss. When Disney sold them in 2001 I think they couldn't even fetch $100,

I assume the big name cels and Walt signatures get the most traffic.

Looking at the estimated prices, they might not. The value only goes up if it was from a major scene of a popular film.
