Blue Sky Disney Article Removed

Yesterday, Blue Sky Disney posted an article mostly about future Disney movies. Today, WDC asked Blue Sky Disney to remove the article. The article now can't be seen online. You can only see on google what some of the title was. Luckily, a person was able to obtain the article before it was removed.

Here's what was removed from Bluesky Disney:

(article content removed)

Hi folks. After a quick discussion with rdeacon, we decided it's best to err on the side of caution here so we've removed the content from this post.

It's not something we like to do, but given that Disney is actively asking sites to remove this (as has been done by both Blue Sky Disney and SlashFilm, for instance), we're going to close this thread.

Thanks for your understanding, folks.

acp.

This is a really bizarre post. I don't get it. Assuming it's true, and assuming this person got it from a reliable source, why would Disney want it taken down unless some of it was untrue or the person didn't really have permission as claimed?

And don't get me started on the writing style...

I think I'm going to chalk this one up to yet another unfounded Disney rumor.

This information has also been found in multiple other websites that reference the Blue Sky Disney Article:

http://www.therotoscopers.com/2013/07/1 ... oana-more/

http://www.bleedingcool.com/2013/07/10/ ... -and-more/

Slashfilm had the article as well, but now removed. I would guess that Disney wanted to formally announce the movies instead of being leaked.

It's all just really strange to me.

I hope you didn't get the idea that I thought your relaying the article to us was bizarre. I found the article being posted and then retracted to be bizarre. Then again, stranger things have happened.

I didn't get that impression at all cy. A lot of info has been getting leaked about Disney lately. I have even heard rumors that Disney has started looking at other website forums to see where the leaks originated.

You might want to remove it from here too if they are search out lines from the article they may be sent to here, a site that violates tons of their IP.

I highly doubt about the rumors though. I feel like Disney wouldn't waste their time going after a fan forum.

Blue Sky Disney is a Disney news source website. Of course Disney looks at websites dedicated releasing news about their company. This website isn't dedicated to that. (It also helps for the website url not to have anything related to Disney)

If they were doing a manual search, perhaps. But with since the search is automated it would only be a matter of time before it shows up in a search engine service picks it up and then shortly afterwards a notification service (such as google alerts) pings them.

If more websites start removing the content, I would consider it. For now, I feel like there is nothing to worry about

I've asked the other mods for their thoughts on this. Personally, I'm of the opinion that posting it here probably isn't the wisest thing. If Disney are asking for it to be removed from other sites, then they'll have their reasons.

I'm all for the whole freedom to report things/discuss things and don't really like removing threads/posts, but at the same time, I'd rather we weren't putting the site in a possible legal problem situation. At the end of the day, I don't want to start deleting things without at least flagging it up with the other mods/admins first.

I'm going to leave it as is for the time being and see what the other mods/admins say.

Other mods/admins: Check your email.

The rest of you: As you were. :)

(Update: See my notes in red on the first post in this thread. After a quick discussion with rdeacon, we decided to err on the side of caution with this one.)
