Just watched the trailer ~ I'm not one for animated movies I know, I know ...but since everyone seemed to be enjoying it, I decided to invest the minute and a half (gasp, this phrase always reminds me of Sam Eagle in MuppetVision 3D!) Aww, it is really cute ~ I think the snowman's voice would drive me bats for a whole movie though

Even though Robert Lopez and his wife Kristen Anderson-Lopez are doing the music for the movie, Alan Menken was originally going to write the music for it. He even wrote an entire song and had it performed a couple of years ago. It's a shame that it most likely won't be in the movie. The video link underneath goes to the song.

I was reminded of the Ice Age trailers, too (I've not actually seen the film Ice Age - even though I do have the free copy that came with my Nexus 7!). Honestly, it kind of annoys me when they put out trailers that don't have anything to do with the main film (or even the vague story of the film). Yes, it's cute, but I'd much rather see something that actually gives you kind of an idea of what the film's going to be about rather than some random stuff that's not related to anything.
(OK, reading that first sentence back, I don't think those words have ever been in one sentence before in all of history.)

Well a Japanese trailer just came out for the movie. It is a bummer that it is in Japanese for now. The movie looks great visually. The trailer will most likely be in front of The Lone Ranger Movie. I will post an English version when it is released

Gives a much better idea of what the movie is about anyhow. Although I did think the teaser was cute :D

I just heard that the english trailer isn't going to be released till August. I found a video online that translates the Japanese through the use of annotations in the video:

One day, major film studios (and for that matter, game studios) will realise that the Internet doesn't have borders or regions, and they should release things at the same time for everyone :P

One of my pet hates, there.*

* OK, I'm done complaining. For now.

It probably isn't that, I have a feeling they are not expecting this to do very well if they are only going to start promoting it when some of the worst movies of the year come out (second only to right after the Oscars).

Maybe Disney is trying to control the advertising costs better than they used to with some movies. You can easily tell with the limited advertisement of The Lone Ranger. November this year is a busy month for theatrical movie releases. Ender's Game, Thor: The Dark World, The Wolf of Wall Street, and Catching Fire. Thankfully Frozen is released the week after Catching Fire and has very little competition to new releases the weekend its released.

They base the promotion budget on how well the film is expected to perform, hence why the lone ranger has had lower key promotions compared to higher grossing films. They won't give avengers level promotion to a movie that is going to tank.

Here is the plot released by Disney:

Anna teams up with a mountain man named Kristoff and his reindeer companion Sven to go on a quest to find Anna's sister Elsa, the Snow Queen, who has banished herself to the mountains into a snow palace, to put an end to the eternal winter she has cursed the Arendelle kingdom to suffer.

I think this movie has potential of being very good.
Hmmm, sounds a little reminiscent of the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe series...
I was thinking the same thing, but I am a huge fan of the lion, the witch and the wardrobe. The BBC version when I was a kid was my favorite thing ever

So this movie came out over the weekend with great reviews. I am planning to go see it soon. Has anyone seen this yet?

it was more akin to the caliber of TLM or BaTB, even Tiana... it really felt like a return to the classics. Anna and Elsa need their coronation at the parks though, they are disney princesses through and through.
