Walt Disney was a great American, but not the greatest. He is a good example of the American dream, coming from nothing and becoming enormously succesful, but I think someone a bit more charitable should be considered the greatest American.

he should at least be in the top 5

Unfortunately he didn't make the Top 5... Washington, Franklin, Lincoln, Dr. King and Reagan are the Top 5, according to that poll. Of those five, I choose Franklin, myself.

I didn't get to vote until it was down to the last five. I'm disappointed to see that Walt didn't make the cut. Neither did the Duke (John Wayne for you youngsters). They were both great Americans. That's something you don't see very much of from Hollywood these days.

I'm guessing a lot of people loved him. Me I don't remember him as a pres. I do belive Frankin should have been Number 1. he has done so much for this nation but most people don't see what he has done. they said most of the people that voted for the greatest american voted for famous people actors and actress' Now that crazy. I think just because you can pretend to be someone else and record it on file doesn't make you the greatest American, Maybe a good american. with the exceptions of those actors and actress' that were pioneers (example: Lucy Ball, for being first women to be pregnant on national TV) Things like that rank as One of the Greatest Americans
