Re: The Avengers!
To Anyone who has seen it, would you recommend it for my boys? They are 9 and 6 but love super heroes. Is there a lot of bad language?

Re: The Avengers!
Be honest, I didn't really pay attention to the language content. The language seemed pretty PG rated.
Re: The Avengers!
From what I remember, there weren't a lot of curses. If I had to guess, the PG-13 was probably because of violence and stuff blowing up!

No there isnt a lot of bad language, but there is a lot of violence.. A whole lot... But it is an awesome movie. I guess it just depends on i they can handle long scenes with loud action and violence.

That is a shame.. but it is one of those high action high noise sort of movies.. But.. remember that seeing it in the theaters is different than on a DVD... on a DVD you can turn down the sound a bit and pause it if they need a moment to process, if its too much....

Re: The Avengers!
Credits shmedits. Wait till it comes out at Redbox and fast forward. I personally like Thor the best of all these Marvel movies, Captain America was the worst.MmeLeota wrote:Is there really no topic yet for The Avengers?!?!?!?
We went to the midnight showing last night...and Holy Crap on a Stick!!!!
I'm not a huge fan of the comic book movies, but I do like the Iron Man movies and we both loved The Avengers!!!! We saw it in 3D and we thought it was well done. Not too "in your face" though there were a few spots that made me jump a little.
The coolest part was when we left the theater. As we (and hundreds of our closest friends ) were pouring out of the doors of the theater and into the parking lot, a HUGE bolt of lightning was spotted in the sky. You could hear the oohs and ahhs (with a few cheers thrown in)...I think everyone had the same thought on their minds...must be Thor!!!!!
A word of advice for anyone planning on seeing the movie. Be sure to stay through ALL of the credits (and there's a ton!)...

Just so long as you're okay with one curse word from Shakespearean language. But other than that the language is pretty good.NaCler wrote:To Anyone who has seen it, would you recommend it for my boys? They are 9 and 6 but love super heroes. Is there a lot of bad language?

Re: The Avengers!
I've seen it and I don't really know how bad the language was. I think there may have been some. My family uses a DVD player by Clearplay. The DVD player mutes bad language and stuff automatically and can be programmed to block really bad violence and stuff. It's pretty cool for most stuff. If you don't want that, there's something called TV Guardian. You run your Blu Ray player or whatever into it and it will mute bad language for you by scanning the Closed Captioning. Both of these work really well for language. The downside to the Clearplay is that it doesn't support Blu Ray discs, but it will up convert DVDs to 1080p [but there are actually very few ways to get "real" 1080p picture, even with Blu Ray (check out http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-33199_7-57 ... esolution/ but you probably don't care)]NaCler wrote:To Anyone who has seen it, would you recommend it for my boys? Here's Clearplay's link https://www.clearplay.com/default.aspx and TV Guardian's link http://www.tvguardian.com/
Hope this is helpful.
