For my DVD choices, I am nominating Emil and the Detectives and Dr. Syn, Alias the Scarecrow. I really enjoyed Emil when I first saw it and know it was one of many films that contributed to my intrigue with Europe, and the Scarecrow was, I think, a 3-parter on Wonderful World of Disney that was edited into one feature length film. On TV, it was The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh. It was a good, historic action film with Patrick McGoohan.

I am not sure if this counts because it is one of the real life adventures but "Flash, the Teenage Otter"

I saw SotS, a bootleg japanese copy. What I remember about it was
A: I doubt it would offend anyone today.
B: It wasn't that good

I have a VHS copy that was given to us by a friend, It's from Japan. I think we have all of them on disk now.

SotS is one of those movies from my childhood that lives on in my mind as a GREAT MOVIE. Being as such I am reluctant to ever watch it again for fear I would not like it anymore.

But still, I love the idea of Uncle Remus and his stories. :)

I love SotS....that's why I'm brerrabbit1. It is wrong on so many levels though,I can see why they won't re-release it !!

I'll throw this out there - I'd love to be able to watch "Song of the South" again. I know it's horrifically inaccurate and politically incorrect. If they could extract the Brer Bear stories and put them together in a shorter-than-feature-length release I would love that. But it also serves as a good lesson about the extent to which African Americans have been mistreated for so long.

Weren't the "Witch Mountain" movies also Disney? :-)

Ok your turn...
I've never seen "Song of the South" but I would like to in its entirety (even tough I wouldn't consider myself racist). Yes, the With Mountain movies are Disney and they have both of them on one DVD. I think my family bought our copy at Sams Club 2 or 3 years ago.

Witch Mountain was one of the movies I enjoyed when I was little. When I saw it when I was older, it didn't hold quite the same appeal though.

Such a good point. I'm always hesitant to either recommend a movie I enjoyed as a kid to another kid, or go back and revisit a movie now that I'm an adult. Too many have been "ruined" in my memory that way.

(mental whiplash alert)

Were the "Benji' movies Disney?
