Re: Lion King 3D
IF I see it in theaters it will be either this Tuesday or next Tuesday when a theater near me has a buy one get one free promo. I already have my blu-ray on order at the Disney Store!

I'm missing this one on DVD but I don't have a lot of Disney films on DVD yet.

Not much really to compete out there for the box office right now...Amy wrote:I saw that the Lion King in 3D was number 1 at the box office this past weekend

I didn't pay much attention to the others in the top 3 that they mentioned. I haven't seen any previews that are remotely tempting for awhile now....mindflipper wrote:Not much really to compete out there for the box office right now...Amy wrote:I saw that the Lion King in 3D was number 1 at the box office this past weekend

Same here.elizabethswann wrote:I'm missing this one on DVD but I don't have a lot of Disney films on DVD yet.
I want to see it in 3D (I saw it in the theatre during the first opening, way back in 1994) but movies here are so expensive, doubt it'll happen. You'd think movie theatres in Idaho wouldn't rip people off this much... 3D is upwards of $15 here!

Re: Lion King 3D
Wow ~ I had to go look online to see what the price of a ticket is here. Looks like it is around $11 for a 3D movie here. One of the few things that aren't more expensive here I guess!Soarin08 wrote:Same here.elizabethswann wrote:I'm missing this one on DVD but I don't have a lot of Disney films on DVD yet.

Hmmm, what does a gallon of gas run out there? I might feel much better if that is higher out there too Well, not happy for you to have to pay more, but happy that maybe we aren't getting gouged as much as it sometimes feels like!

Re: Lion King 3D
We're currently at $3.65 ~ that seems about right since everytime they have a national average in the paper, we are about 10 cents higher. Haven't figured that out yet...sigh...MmeLeota wrote:About $3.50 - $3.60 a gallon...give or take
Still won't go see Lion King 3D in the theater, although I bet it would look pretty

Re: Lion King 3D
I think I will pass on Lion King 3D. These movies were never designed for 3D in mind. Seeing a movie in 3D is not to me the same as a movie designed for 3D in mind (like Philharmagic at WDW). The 3D effect is really wasted...
Re: Lion King 3D
We're ranging from $3.67-$3.77, over $4 for premium/diesel. Ridiculous in a town dominated by college students to get gouged like this.Amy wrote:We're currently at $3.65 ~ that seems about right since everytime they have a national average in the paper, we are about 10 cents higher. I don't really care for the 3D thing because it gives me a headache, and most of the effects really aren't too superb. I saw Toy Story and Toy Story 2 in 3D a few years back and it didn't do anything for me.
But note a regular movie here is $10-$12. I go during matinees if possibly but that's still $8.

Re: Lion King 3D
Yikes! It does feel like a bit of gouging to me!
Re: Lion King 3D
If I go 20 minutes up the road to Idaho Falls, it's a dime cheaper. $.13 cheaper if I go to Fred Meyer and use my rewards card for the discount. It was cheaper in Orlando when I was there last weekend!!!!mindflipper wrote:Yikes! It does feel like a bit of gouging to me!
There are around 25K residents here, 15K of them at the university. Take us all out and that leaves 10K. Hardly a population.
