Movies, TV, music, and more. Here's the place to talk about anything Disney outside of the parks.

I just read about the newly opened Disney Pavilion at Florida Hospital and didn't think I'd seen anything about it here, so I thought I'd share.

I think this is a great idea and hopefully will help many sick children keep their spirits up while they heal.

Can't wait to take my twin boys on their first trip to Walt Disney World! Planning on heading there sometime Feb-May 2014!

Wow, I am surprised they didn't have one already. I think that the CHOC hospital by Disneyland still has disney stuff.

They just have the characters painted on the walls though right? This seems to be a more interactive experience with things for the kids to climb on and play with.

Can't recall, but I think they have the characters visit still, as well as the Angels, Ducks as well.

Wow, that is great. I wonder if this is for emergency care, or if it is for children with more long term medical issues like burns and cancer and such? Either way that is very great that Disney is doing that.

I think this is a children's hospital so it will have long term care areas and an emergency room. I haven't read too much on this so I really can't say for sure.

It's a great little area! My daughter had to get a Cardiac MRI and will be going for another open heart surgery there. There are neat games for the kids to play and characters to pose with. Music is pumped in, and the nurses working in the area are in costume, not hospital garb.

That is great that they provide a little less scary place for the kids to heal. Hope your little girl's surgery goes well!!

I think this is an awesome Idea, Wish they could come up with something like that in all children's hospitals.

They should! It's really amazing to see sick kids smile when they see Pumba, Baloo, Nemo...etc.

I know.I used to do some volunteer work at Give Kids the World when I lived in Orlando. It is for very sick kids and their families, they stay in this wonderful village for a week and visit the parks. I saw first hand how happy they were for a short time. It really warmed my heart.
