That's what I'm here for, my friend... Glad to have you back.
Meanwhile, back on the farm... I was also one of the ones that had NO CLUE what they were saying on the How do you do song... I ended up doing a search on the internet to find out. If I had heard the version on Subsonic with Ravenscroft, there would have been no doubt. He OVER-pronunciates it.

That "sure as your born" lyric...I think you need to be somewhere from Louisiana to pronounce that one correctly

With the red clay of Chik-a-pin Hill, I gotta say more likely it be Georgia or somwheres about...
(in my best southern accent)

It's from "Shake, Rattle and Roll":
"Roll my breakfast cause I'm a hungry man!"

Really? What the heck does that mean? Or is it just part of the shake, rattle and
roll?

You asked what the lyrics said, not what it meant! Maybe that was the slang from back then when the song was written (before my time!)....

Sorry! I know you're not
that old!
Perhaps one of the older folks can clue us in. I do like knowing
what the lyric is though

That did actually cross my mind when you posted earlier. I might give it a try, but she was never one for lyrics from what I gather

It just could have been a figure of speech from before our time, but maybe during her time...

Ok, I've got another one I need help with...it is from Abraham Lincoln's speech before the choir launches into "Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory..." He says
Let us have faith, that right makes __________? And in that faith, let us to the end, dare to do our duty as we understand it.
It kind of sounds like he says "might" but I'm not sure...
