The hubby and I were discussing this. Someone clear something up for me... and settle a friendly dispute... can you see which figure is inside the box? He says no, I say "of course you can! Why would anyone buy one of these things and not know what they're getting???"

Not that anyone in my household will be buying a VM.

There was one where it was like 5-6 feet tall, custom painted and all that and had some really obscene price.

The tron one from 2010 was also absurdly expensive at $595 for a 9 inch tall one.

Some have windows in the box so you can see them, others are a "blind" box and you only know what series it is, not the specific VM. That is why there is VM trading at WDW ~ so you can trade your $13 pieces of plastic for ones you really want
That reminds me, I have to venture to the mall today. I might pop into the Disney store to see what they are offering for VMs. I'll have to hold my breath as soon as I enter the store though ~ the plastic smell is horrible throughout the whole store. And the smell isn't just from the VMs either

cy1229 - Amy is exactly right. The specialty VM's like the sports team ones are in open window boxes so you know what team you are buying. The blind box series are like the Haunted Mansion ones I posted earlier. You know which ones are available but they are covered so you don't know exactly which figure you are buying. This makes it kind of fun and frustrating.

Didn't someone say that if you weren't happy with the one you bought (in the mystery boxes) that they would trade or something at the store?
