Movies, TV, music, and more. Here's the place to talk about anything Disney outside of the parks.

They were talking about what happens with rides when they close, first pass goes to imagineering/matinence who will pull tech, parts, etc. if they think they can find a use for them elsewhere, then the archives gets a pass, then the rest is either trashed or sold to the surplus.
Nice ~ I wish I had some connections to get a few trinkets here or there without having to mortgage my non-existent house...
Some stuff on Mouse Surplus isn't too expensive. We were looking at a few things at one point, but had been outbid...but I still look from time to time. They were on an episode of "Shipping Wars" after they sold a couple of large Star Wars artifacts from the original Star Tours area.
Anyway, back on topic here...I saw this on FB and knew I must share it here!

I always wonder what they pay to disney to get the goods? Is it just a specific price per ton or do they have to pay a price per item?

I have bought a square of the Imagination Institute carpet there as well as one of the celebration banners that actually hung in the parks!

That sounds cool, having a piece of the park at home is definitely awesome!
Amy I have yet to purchase any VMs but that Duffy one sure is cute
Oh, let me stop
I did find one on eBay though that has a starfish on it. I thought about getting it for my daughter who loves the beach and therefore I can get her something Disney (for my enjoyment
) but it also works for her tastes

That sounds a bit like the husband who purchases a vacuum cleaner for his wife's birthday
That is a creative solution though
