Awww, come on. Simba looks great as the Beast! That is horrible... I'm surprised Disney hasn't shut this one down yet. Even the opening GM TOONS logo opens like Disney films. Great find MmeLeota!

I saw that yesterday from one of my other sites and it's just....real horrible. I hope Disney steps in quick.

Re: Beauty and the Beast ripoff?
"The trailer shows logos for GM Toons and Erawan Edutainment, but a cursory web search shows no results for either company. So the Disney Corporation might be out of luck if they're looking to sue for copyright violation."
Hopefully Disney will be able to do enough investigating and get to the bottom of this one!

Bahahahahaha Oh wow! That's wow. If Disney can sue they should but that animation was so ridiculously horrible that I don't know if it's worth their time.
Re: Beauty and the Beast ripoff?
I doubt they can do much to stop this. The funny thing is, it's probably not hard to get a bootleg of the Disney original in Thailand instead of paying for this knockoff.

Re: Beauty and the Beast ripoff?
I guarantee their target audience does not include Disney purists...
Disney will nail them... it's inevitable. They have the resources to track this down and squash it real quick.

I remember Kimba the white lion from when I was a kid. It was a cartoon on TV in the 60's. I forgot all about that!

Re: Beauty and the Beast ripoff?
It was one of those cheap 60's anime cartoons the was on after school. Come to think of it, I didn't even like anime as a kid. I was one of the few the didn't like Speed Racer!! When it comes to that stuff give me good old Disney, Hanna-Barbera, Walter Lantz, Warner Bros, Tex Avery, and many others! Never could get into the Japanese C*rap!

Re: Beauty and the Beast ripoff?
Actually, this has been happening for decades. Cheap animation knock-offs of Disney films. I don't think Disney has been able to stop any of them yet to date. But as someone else pointed out that the pirated disney versions are available so cheaply in foreign countries - is it really profitable to spend the resources to make a knock-off?

Re: Beauty and the Beast ripoff?
It depends on when it is released and how it compares to the targeted material. The Asylum (for instance) gets their money by releasing their semi-ripoff (they don't actually see the movies/scripts and write their plots based on the trailers) about a week before the movie hits theaters and hoping to confuse people into buying/renting them. If it wasn't that they were making movies to make money I would swear they were the modern day ed wood since the movies are so awful that they are funny.
