Either that, or Malcolm McDowell from a "Clockwork Orange". I believe his character had a cane (like Zeus did) and hat in that film.MmeLeota wrote:Did anyone else get a "Jack Sparrow" vibe from Michael Sheen's performance?

I must say, I have never seen "Clockwork Orange". But it is on my list of films to see. For the most part, Stanley Kubrick's films are not exactly my cup of tea...mindflipper wrote:Either that, or Malcolm McDowell from a "Clockwork Orange". With the Castle they actually can do that whenever they want (if they want) since the tech exists for it and there is pretty much no construction required. They've been using architechtural projection/mapping like crazy to promote the movie (TronCore, most of ElecTRONica, and a special display in London). It's been compared to taking acid when you see a building morph and move like that.
I would say that the evil board, that is pretty much every major software publisher (I'm looking at you Adobe!).
I think they've already greenlit the next movie and possibly the 3rd, so Dillinger's kid (and the evil board) might have a greater role.
The one question I had was "Why was Clu 2.0 so obsessed with getting Alan in?" He never really explains why he was expecting him rather than Sam.

To me, his performance seemed to be screaming "Look at me! I'm the wacky comic relief! Laugh at me, please laugh at me!"MmeLeota wrote: Did anyone else get a "Jack Sparrow" vibe from Michael Sheen's performance?

I was mostly thinking "Yeah, I fully trust you" and "He seems legit"

It may have been the intent, but I don't think they succeeded. It was more creepy than funny.Future Guy wrote:To me, his performance seemed to be screaming "Look at me! I'm the wacky comic relief! They based his appearance on ZIggy Stardust, I know that. As for the mannerisms, I'm not sure who he had in mind but he did amazing.mindflipper wrote:Either that, or Malcolm McDowell from a "Clockwork Orange". Re: Free Tron Legacy Imax Preview Tickets
I think the only part of the character that was badly done was his cane (I won't go into details in case anyone really wants zero spoilers), that just seems like a cop out from the writers.

Was it just me or did anyone else think "Horizons" when they brought Sam to the building to figure out where to place him?
We are all a little weird

And when we find someone whose
Weirdness is compatible with ours,
We join up with them and fall in
Mutual weirdness and call it Love.”

I think it might be a reference to the previous movie. All of the stuff they sent me has a running theme of that shape.

Wow, we just saw Tron in Imax 3D yesterday! Awesome! Now I can see why there is so much discussion going on! Can't wait for the sequel... you know there's going to be one!

I think once you see it in IMAX 3D, you really don't want to see it in 2D because of how crystal clear the images are.

Re: Free Tron Legacy Imax Preview Tickets
The odd thing about the movie is that the hardcore nerds who loved the "meh" first movie hate this movie with a vengence. Spoony posted an hour long review of the movie, don't look for it if you are sensitive or pregnant since his reviews can cause harm to people, and he just rips it to shreds.
I think what they hate is that a movie was made using a geek franchise but it was made to appeal to a wide audience.
