Princesses on Subsonic

Movies, TV, music, and more. Here's the place to talk about anything Disney outside of the parks.

Princesses on Subsonic

Post by Mousekedude » May Tue 11, 2010 8:00 am

I've been thinking about the recent teasing back and forth between myself and some of the other guys as it relates to pictures I and others have posted of princesses, fairies, hula girls, etc. I'm aware that some of our light-hearted jesting may, in the eyes of some, be borderline inappropriate for this family-oriented web site. Because of my deep appreciation for this site and my respect for all of you here, I want to take this opportunity to acknowledge those concerns and to say that I have no wish to offend anyone or make anyone uncomfortable. So rather than try to post a bunch of comments on various different threads, I thought I would start this thread to address it all in one place. So I have a couple things to say:

1) As for the pictures of the princesses: they are, after all, pictures that were taken at WDW. How can they be inappropriate for this site if they are appropriate enough for the parks? Granted, it's the use and discussion of them that can be a problem, so I promise to be more considerate in that regard.

2) As for the picture of the fairy in the swing, well, have you seen some of the artwork of Tinkerbell herself in the various shops at Disney? And what about Jessica Rabbit? 'nuff said there. But again, out of respect for everyone, I promise to tone that stuff down from now on.

3) As for the picture of the Hula girls at the Spirit of Aloha dinner, see item 1 above. And, again I repeat the last sentence therein.

All that having been said, I wish to remind everyone that it is all in fun, and that I am not really as wild as I may seem to be when it comes to stuff like that. The only true princess in my life who means anything to me is this one right here:

So moving along now, I propose that we make the topic of this thread a discussion of the true Princess or Prince of our lives. How did you meet your significant other and what do you love most about him or her? In the case of those who are still deciding on who their Prince or Princess will be, what is it you are hoping to find?
I welcome your thoughts.

Dude, you really are a nice guy. Yeah, we all play around and that is human nature. I'm a family man myself and only play the wild part for fun. I will take your pledge as well. I will post on my true princesses (I have 2 girls that are my life) when I get back from our trip.

If anyone has any problems with anything that we post PLEASE feel free to PM us or call us out on the thread. We're grown men, we can take it. The last thing I want to do is offend ANY of my Subsonic family.

Thanks, NaCler. I agree with you, and knew that you would do the honorable thing as well. Prepare yourself to write a good trip report when you get back! It will be expected!

I had zero issue with anything you posted.

This reminds me of a saying that I hear often at work...

you can please all of the people some of the time and some ofthe people all of the time but never all of the people all of the time.

I am quite sure my avatar offends some people (especially Yankee fans and maybe some Indians fans as that is from game 6 of the 2007 ALCS after JD Drew hit a first inning grand slam).

I could go on a Dennis Miller type rant here about political correctness but I'll let it rest.

Of course you agree with me... I called you a nice guy. :D
I don't think any trip reports can even come close to your love story. But, I will do my best.

Thanks Prince Mousekedude. You can stop sleeping in the garage now! =) JK

All of us strive to be that quintessential princess and catch a prince. The principles that Disney teaches are that while Cinderella and other true Princesses are beautiful, their character is even more so. Outward beauty is never a match for inward beauty where soundness of mind/heart is present. Physical beauty serves a purpose and is nice to have but will fade with time when that is all you choose to see. Inward beauty is ever lasting and timeless.

Thanks for clarifying the point!

We will have to come back and tell our story. It is way more than the allotted 400 words....

Awwwwww....nicely said M-dude!!! M-holic, you have a great guy there! :D
You two make the perfect couple!

I will share my story about my Prince Charming! Funny how we met....I had gone out with a group of friends (this was late in '02), and I was dating someone at the time. B-dude was there too, also dating someone else. I remember talking to him that evening and thinking he was cute and a nice guy. Fast forward a year and a half.....I was no longer dating anyone, and where I work most of our clients/members are 60+, I really didn't want to look for Mr. Right in a bar (I'm not into the bar scene anymore, not since college). I have a few friends that are happily married with children, and they met their husbands on Match.com. They suggested to me that I try that too! At first I thought, you've got to be kidding me!!! But, then I thought, what have I got to lose, right?! So, I went on Match.com. I went on two dates which did not work out. And then I got an e-mail from my now DH, who's full name is Aniello. I remembered him from way back, how could you forget an Italian name like that!!? We chatted online for a while, then on phone, we decided to meet....and the rest is history! I feel like we were meant to meet! Fist in person but it was not the right time, then we find eachother online a year and a half later?!

When we first started dating, I was already signed up for the Disney 1/2 (Jan. '05). I invited him to come along with my family and I. At first he really didn't want to, then he said he would go, but only for a few days. (He was not too keen on Disney). Needless to say, he joined us for the entire trip and he says that's where he fell in love with me and Disney World! We were engaged Dec. '05 and honeymooned where else but Disney (Dec. '06)!!! We've been back every year, sometimes twice in a year since and always around our Ann. (Nov. 18th)

Aniello is my best friend. I can always count on him to be there for me. He's supportive of me. We can laugh and have fun together, i.e. when we're in Disney, we're like two big kids! He has a serious side too. I'm a little more high strung and his very laid back, we balance eachother and understand eachother. He is my Prince Charming and I don't know what I would do without him?! I always feel safe when I'm with him. I'm so blessed that we found eachother and have him in my life. Here's to my Sweeties!!!

Mousekecouple, that picture is so sweet!

Double-Boiler, it's nice to see a larger format of your picture!

All of you guys are so nice and both couples are adorable! :)

Mousekedude and NaCler, your sentiments are very heartfelt and genuine and I would never think of either of you as anything but super nice guys!

I am the same way...I may have a "wild" side here, but that's just me getting excited with the crowd. I am not a total party animal either...in fact, I'm quite the opposite. (I have my moments though...I really am a true Gemini  ) I apologize if anything I may have said offended anyone or got anyone in trouble ...I mean no harm and am out for some good-natured fun like the next person.

I would love to tell everyone the story of how Chernabog40 and I met, but it will have to wait til later. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to tell it right now.

What a great story boilerbabe. We can relate, but more about that later. I did get goose bumps in reading your story. You both are such a great and loving couple.
Thanks for sharing!

Can't wait to hear your story MmeLeota. I think everyone on here is the same. We all have a little wild side but tame by standard of the world today.

Not at all, kcarts! You did pick up nicely on my secondary point, which was that we should all take things with a grain of salt and not be quick to be offended. I thought your post was just fine.

So would you be willing to tell us your love story?

Thank you so much, MmeLeota. And you have no reason to apologize for anything that I know of! You have always been one of the best as far as having fun, yet still being graceful and not crossing the line. I have tremendous respect for you. :D

And I do look forward to hearing your story when you have time.
