I got that email earlier tonight also. I think it is an interesting competition and a great way to draw some publicity towards the movie and get some hype and excitement going. Hasn't really been talked about much when compared to Pirates, Prince of Persia, National Treasure 3.

I've been seeing a ton of commercials on TV for it for the past few weeks.

The 3D preview shown before Avatar was really cool. Makes you want to watch it in 3D.

From the previews I think this one is more geared to the 3D technology than most. Most film a movie and have it in the 3D format. This one seems to be like the disney theme-park 3D films: filmed with the idea that it's in 3D and exploits it to the fullest. I know Avatar was in 3D, but it just seemed like it was a film in 3D but not designed for 3D.

Hmmmm.... interesting! My DW is the one who has Disney emails sent to her, so I'll have to get her to check her emails for this info. Thanks for the heads-up!
