I think POTC4 "On Stranger Tides" is planned for 2011. Depp and Rush return as Sparrow and Barbosa. No Bloom, no Knightley. It deals with Blackbeard and the Fountain of Youth.

Yes, but I believe that is the last POTC movie. Disney has Jerry busy with POTC 4, Prince of Persia, Sorceress’ Apprentice and a National Treasure 3.

DH made me watch the trailer and I have to say, it looked darn good! I'm not so sure about POTC4. I think they should just stop!

It just ain't the same without Bloom and Knightley. Especially Knightley (chuckle). But of course I'll have to see it anyway.... *sigh*.

I do have to agree. I personally found the first to be just absolutely amazing, the second was also amazing. However, the third juts felt like it was stretched out a tad too much. I still loved all three and have no regrets in seeing all three on blu-ray throughout the course of a couple of days at the end of May. Just seems like the 4th movie is to try and squeeze some more money. Doubt it could be near the same without Bloom and Knightley. I'll check out the preview for the Prince of Persia tomorrow when I can study it.

National Treasure 3 should be interesting. Those movies really like to play with history.

I didn't like POTC2 and 3. Sorry. Too much Bloom, who I don't think is a good actor. POTC4 will be dealing with dueling double-dealing between Sparrow and Barbosa, which is what I loved about POTC1 and the parts I like about POTC3. From the sounds of it, they're trying to get the POTC films back to being about Pirates, and not just the whole Turner/Swann storyline. That storyline ran for 3 films and that was enough (they did end nicely after the ending credits on POTC3 I thought).

I agree, w/o Bloom and Knightley, I'm not sure the film will be all that great. You can't make 3 films w/ them and then just decide to leave them out. I understand they're making it more about pirates, but like Len said, it seems they are just trying to squeeze more $$$ out! I didn't like the way they ended the Swann/Turner storyline. :( Like M-dude said, I will still go and see POTC4.

I'm looking forward to Prince of Persia, I thought it looked pretty good! I just hope it's not one of those movies where they show you all of the good parts in the previews!

I'm glad that Keira decided to pass on POTC4. It wouldn't be a good thing to keep doing the same role over and over again. However, I'm not sure if I'm going to want to watch POTC4. POTC3 wasn't that great. I'm a fan of the first two.

But Prince of Persia does look interesting. I may see this with my step-dad if he's up to it.

Wasn't there a Prince of Persia movie a few years ago? I remember taking the kids to see it. POTC4 seems like it going to be different, I'm going to see it.

Prince of Persia looks like it could be good. Kept getting these vibes like I was watching a Narnia trailer for some reason, except more action and no animals...well one animal, the snake.

I liked all the Pirates movies. It will be interesting to see how it turns out. I like the idea of focusing on Sparrow and Barbossa, but with Dick Cook's resignation causing Depp's enthusiam in "On Stranger Tides" to be shaken I wonder how it will affect everything.

I looked online and I didn't see anything that said there was a movie before the one that will be coming out.

Prince of Persia is a video game they are making in to a movie. Which amazed me that Disney picked it. The games are very violent and very bloody. If anyone is a gamer, they are very similar to God of War.
