That is just amazing. Actually it might have brought a tear or two to my eye. That commercial really stimulates you to want to go back.

I was impressed it wasn't just Disneyland-only like some ads tend to be. Mixing the Small World Holiday from Disneyland with the castle from WDW. Nice to see they're covering both coasts for once.

...although, there is also something creepy about a flying ship that abducts children by secretly luring them away in the middle of night while the parents sleep. When you hear about kids disappearing in the middle of the night on the news, they usually don't end up in a Disney themepark....

Now, now... behave yourself....! LOL
Actually, I'd be willing to bet that it is meant to represent the dreams of kids.

Seriously, here in my corner of Florida there's been a slew of kids that disappeared over the years: Maddie Clifton, Christopher Barrios, Haliegh Cummings, and recently Somer Thompson. Some they find, some they do not. Many too awful to discuss in detail on this forum. The predators in the case of the Christopher Barrios case are finally being tried in court. The search is on now for perpetrator of the Somer Thompson case, and we hope and wish the police well in finding the culprit.
Many parents all over North and Central Florida are more paranoid than ever about their children's welfare and security. And here's a Disney ad depicting children running away secretly in the night to Disney World/Disneyland? It's a cute ad, but for some parents it might be sending a wrong message at the wrong time...

Wow, thanks for all that info. I'm sure I'm not the only one who didn't know all that was going on over there. I can see why it might freak someone out.
But then again, Disney can't possibly anticipate what is going on all over the world and avoid making a commercial that might not go over too well somewhere. The people who made the commercial might not even be in Florida and may not be aware of all those incidents, either.

You might be making an interesting point off of the ad, but then what Peter Pan. A lot of child abductions take place in the cover of night which seems a lot like the story of Peter Pan. I do wonder if Disney was trying to incorporate the story of Peter Pan into the commercial since the kids are going off to "neverland" or in this case Disney World/Disneyland.

In another commercial with the flying boat, they have Peter Pan and Tinkerbell, and the ad starts with the parents planning the trip on the internet. This ad doesn't have that.
Just to note: I am trying to give another perspective how this ad may be taken that's not positive. The idea of the ad might not be cute to some.
For me, I like it. How many times as a kid did I not fantasize about a magical time at a WDW park? More times than I could count on my fingers and toes...

Wow, I'm so impressed. I wanna go! It reminded me a lot of the Polar Express, of course with a ship instead of a train and Disney instead of the North Pole. How charming.
Thanks for sharing, ericpabear!

UPDATE: the advertisement just finally aired during 11:00 PM news on a local channel here. However, one BIG difference between it and the version you can seen at the link at top: the Small World Holiday scene has been edited out. It has been made in a "Disney World" only version.
