Good one elizabethswann. I forgot all about that episode. I think I might go watch that on DVD tonight.

Family Guy and the Simpsons are rife with Disney references in many episodes. Even Furturama got into the game, the episode when they go to the moon there is a theme park sponsored by Monsanto, and designed by "fungineers" with degrees in "fungineering."

Did anyone ever notice, the movie with Eddie Murphy, he's a detective, I can't think of the name of the movie, but it's one of a series he did, the name escapes me but his character is Axl Foley.

Anyway, at the end they end up in an amusement park, and there are underground tunnels throughout the park, which makes me think of MK and the character of the park is called "Okie Dokey" obviously not the mouse. But, it totally made me think of WDW with the tunnels. Wonder if any other parks have that, or if they filmed at MK?

There was also one episode of Family Guy where Peter takes Stewie to Disney World. There are also references to Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom in the same episode.

In that same episode Stewie is captured by security and forced to be a child on "It's a Tiny World." I always thought those "dolls" looked a little too happy.

that's Beverly Hills Cop 3. and 90% of the movie takes place in that park (Wonder World theme park). the owner of the park is named Uncle Dave (in the movie - a reference to Uncle Walt). however, the park is actually Paramount's Great America, a real park in CA. and about the only link to Disney parks is the themeing of the areas/rides.

Oh yeah, he is chained to the ride and forced to sing that song, and when Stewie escapes all the other kids escape too, they get out of thier chains and run free.

That is freaking hilarious!

js3901, so does Paramount's Great America have under ground tunnels like WDW?! I thought that carousel looked familiar, we have a Great America in Gurnee IL. with the same carousel. Interesting!!!

I think that's also the episode where one of the rides is a slide that looks like a graph and says "Disney Stock" and the characters are riding it down the chart  .

And there's a parody of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride called Halle Berry's Wild Ride and towards the end of the Disney World scene you get to see a Jungle Cruise boat disappear out of the picture.

That is extremely funny, unless you are a Disney shareholder and it comes as a reality strike!

Thinking on the Simpsons, I got a few others. There was a theme park sign in one episode called Dis-nee-land and below it said not affiliated with Disneyland, Disney World, or anything else from the Walt Disney Company.

Another one Homer decided to hide his fugitive mother where nobody else would look, Disney's California Adventure.

And my favorite one... it was a quick thing at the movie theater, but one of the movies listed on the marquee is "Eating Nemo".

no idea. I know that they filmed it at GA, as well as at Universal Studios (the scene with the Alien Attack is actually the Earthquake portion of the Universal tour). it's possible that GA does have those tunnels, but I've never been to CA, let alone a theme park out there...

I managed to Google "Disney References in Pop Culture" and I came across this link: http://www.islandnet.com/~kpolsson/disnepop/

It's got a ton of references starting from the 1930s to the present so it's a thumpin' good read.

That is funny...I never knew the Simpsons had so many Disney references in their show!
