Free weekends at Disney in the 80's

I'm not sure if this is the right forum but I hope so. Since I've noticed there are a number of floridians here, I'm curious if any others knew members of the state legislature or were family of members when Disney used to do the free weekends for them. Additionally, I'm curious to hear from any cast members that may have worked during these events, any horror stories? I was a kid for these and have some of the best memories from these events. Also, did Disney do this for neighbor states of Bama and Georgia? Also, did they do this for any other groups, government or business? I know they stopped doing it around 87 but curious about current forms of this.
