Anyone here ever participated in one of their seminars either on property or some other location?
I have the opportunity to attend in November to one of their 3.5 day seminars at the Beach Club.

I thought the Institute closed to make way for my very favorite resort, SSR?

No, you can still take classes. I don't know if its at "Disney Institute" or at a resort (like the Coronado Springs)
Here is a link to the info:
http://www.disneyinstitute.com/
I'd be interested in some of the "Disney" ways of doing things & how I could incorporate it into my business.
It looks like they offer classes in other cities, not just WDW...though that's where I would go

I registered for the Leadership Excellence program at the Beach Club Resort November 15-18. I've read three books about the way Disney does what they do. I'm really looking forward to this experience personally and professionaly.
If anyone is in the area on those dates let me know.

Of course you are only going for the course Dave! You have no interest in any of the holiday lights or parks... Good choice on the dates. They should be in full holiday mode. MVMCP will be held on the 17 and the Osbourne lights start on Nov. 10. So from the looks of things, you should be pretty well covered!

I have no clue what you're talking about. But I'll post a trip rep . . uhm . . . a training report on what I learned when I get back.

Oh, that's cool to know.
Way back when, the place where I used to work had someone from the DI come in to talk about guest service and exceeding expectations, etc. I was given his business card and told to call if I ever ended up moving down there... since a lot of my old job was teaching good guest service at that venue.
Glad to know its still there - thanks!

Pretty much means that all of the holiday celebrations will be going on so make sure to check your times guide to see if they coincide with your classes. I look forward to reading that "training" report when you get back. Just make sure to take lots of pictures of any interesting things you see (hats, big golf balls, fake trees, castles, holdiay decortations, etc.)

I also thought the Disney Institute was defunct - going to have to take a look at the website and see if they have anything I can afford. Probably couldn't justify an entire vacation as a business expense but a couple day seminar might work...

I took part in the institute animation course back in 1996 - it was held behind the animation show in mgm almost behind tot. it was good a little bit basic but you got to paint your own animation cel at the end of it which they then posted to you at home.
