Hadn't heard about it yet, thanks for the link. Looks to be a fun movie. Anything with Johnny Depp will be HIT!

I've been seeing trailers for it now, and it looks pretty wild! On one of those entertainment shows (I forget which one nancynohorse had on last night), they said its "not the Alice in Wonderland you grew up with..."

The trailer looks awesome. I loved the book, and I loved the Disney movie. I hope this lives up to everybody's expectations.

It looks OK, but Tim Burton has become such a trick pony, I a little tired of everything having to be so faux creepie, And who where all those character? I'm familiar with the books characters. Is it a totally new story, 'cause someone told me it was?

Alice has grown up and is engaged. She has forgotten all about Wonderland. Sometime before her wedding she spots the white rabbit again and follows him to the hole she falls in.

Weirdness is compatible with ours,
We join up with them and fall in
Mutual weirdness and call it Love.”

Well I'm not much of a Depp fan after his Nightmare on Elm Street- 21 Jump street days, but I'll still give it a try. The story sounds interesting.

I don't know, I want to like it, but it looks kind of like the remake of Willie Wonka to me...when Depp plays these strange characters it gives an odd Edward Scissorhands-ness to the whole film and I don't think it's the best for remakes of childhood classics...but w/ Tim Burton, you know it's going to be a little dark and strange.

If you have ever read the book, it isn't the sunshine and roses that Disney made it out to be. The same with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory; for its time, it is a really dark children's book

This is very true. As a child, I was a fan of Roald Dahl's books (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Willy Wonka and the Great Glass Elevator, James and the Giant Peach...etc). His writing was not bright and cheery like other children's books and I loved it!

Alice in Wonderland is the same way. I am actually re-reading the book now so I have it fresh in my memory since it's been so long since I read it originally. There are a lot of things I had forgotten about since I have seen the movie more recently...I'm hoping the movie will bring back those forgotten parts.

Btw, we saw the trailer in 3D when we went to see Harry Potter in IMAX. I was hyperventilating...I can't wait! :D

That's what I love about Tim Burton; he tends to stay close to the books as possible if he does his own adaptations. That's probably why everyone was hating Charlie and the Chocolate Factory because a) it wasn't anything like the original and b) it was close to the book.
