Extinct-attractions-club.com feedback?
I looked for a topic on this, but couldn't find one. Has anyone here made any purchases from extinct-attractions-club.com? How was your experience? Did you get your stuff in a timely manner? It's not that I'm looking for dirt on them per se, but I'm considering buying some stuff from them and I want to be sure they're on the level.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I've bought a couple of movies from them over the past few years. the very first movie I bought I was a LITTLE disappointed with (not the movie, per se. just the packaging). The "cover art" was basically a back-and-white photocopy of a DVD label (looked like it was made by an amateur on a computer, not a company that does this sort of thing for a living). the other times I've bought have been alot better, with more professional quality covers. The quality of the video itself is pretty good.
as for travel time, I believe they use the regular postal service (I haven't ordered from them in a few years, so I forgot), so you'd get it in about a week. they send them out fairly quickly from when you order them as well...

there are definetly posts on this already. I ahve had both good and abd expereinces with them. First the good, Most quality is great, adn where else will you find this stuff. Bad, Ive had cases show up broken and there's an odor. Also i ahve ordered stuff in the past and not gotten it. I waited and after 3 weeks complained. The owner told he he doesnt sell his DVDs, that peop make contributions adn you get teh DVDs. At the time he did not have the one I requested(star tours opening weekend) TO shut me up he sent about 15 DVDs to me. I have only ordered one audio CD since then, and it was not labeled.

I didn't have the cases broken that I recalled, but I may have just been lucky in that way. However, I did notice that odor (the smell of those cheap plastic DVD cases you can get at the dollar store). I absolutely hate that smell...yodiwan1 wrote: Bad, Ive had cases show up broken and there's an odor.

I was thinking of buying from them when I first heard about them and I still get e-mails from them whenever they release new things but I love downloading videos by Martin on mousebits.com. He covers alot of the history of rides/shows and offers multiple views/angles. Has anyone else heard of him or seen his videos?
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha

If you mean Martin Smith, then yes, I've got a few of his Ultimate Tribute videos on my hard drive; they're excellent.packwingfn wrote:I was thinking of buying from them when I first heard about them and I still get e-mails from them whenever they release new things but I love downloading videos by Martin on mousebits.com. Well, I ordered an EPCOT background music CD from Extinct Attractions last Friday (April 3). I got an email saying it had shipped (I used the US mail option, not the more expensive FedEx shipping), but I still haven't received it. If I haven't gotten it by Friday I'm going to shoot them an email, but I don't know what they could do if the postal service lost it.

Gotta be patient with Dave O'Neal at Extinct Attractions. For one, he's set it up as a way to raise money for a charity to help homeless families in Anahiem. It is a small size operations, so when there's a rush for orders, he can get overloaded. BE PATIENT. Shoot him an e-mail if there's a problem, he's always been quick to respond. Also, he's on Facebook. Some of the DVD cases have been poorly designed in the past, but they have improved over time. If you think you can design a better cover, shoot him a cover. If you want it faster, you can order the download instead of the DVD or CD (where available). I'm not saying I haven't had my problems with Dave/Extinct Attractions, but he's always been honest and friendly with me in getting it resolved.

Every time I hit the submit button I think of one more point I would like to make. About the Martin Smith videos: aren't they great or what? Where else can you Light Magic in full (I'm sure Disney wish you couldn't!)? Martin has a great collection of videos with some good history. One thing about some of the Extinct Attractions videos is that some of them actually interview the Imagineers that worked on the project. Like the Haunted Mansion DVD from Extinct Attractions: you have Marc Davis' widow, Xavier Xtencio, Roland Crump, Harriet Burns, Thurls Ravenscroft, and Bob Gurr. Dave has interviewed many of these legendary imagineers in creating his DVD documentaries.

I am acually waitin for a shipment from EAC. I have always enjoyed the products and if I do run into issues, I email Dave and he gets right back to me...always very pleasant.
I will have to check out Martin Smith...no offense to EAC, but I actually would like to see Light Magic. We missed it completely, and though everyone says how bad it was...we really liked the music! It would be nice to see what was happening during the music.
