favorite disney classic/movie
My favorite I have to say recently is Summer Magic-especially with all the songs they use from the movie on Main Street at Disneyland (especially since i heard those songs for 8 hrs a day when i worked at the park....but i grew up with Tron and the Black hole. I had a coloring book of the Black Hole when i was a kid-I wish I still had it ....I remember seeing the black hole at school on a movie projector in the auditorium at the end of the school year

My sisters love that movie and while I was overhearing, I realized that there were in fact two songs from Main Street in the movie. There could be more but I only heard two. I had no idea where they came from but now I'm glad to know the source.michelesanchez wrote:My favorite I have to say recently is Summer Magic-especially with all the songs they use from the movie on Main Street at Disneyland

I really enjoy the seriels they have released on dvd-the spin and marty's and the hardy boys, I really liked the elfego baca seriels also .. I gave them to my mother to watch and she really enjoyed them-she said it brought back a lot of memories as she used to watch the mickey mouse club as a child....My mother is a teacher and she teaches first grade and she has mentioned that a lot of her children have never seen Pinocchio and Snow white and bambi and a lot of the non pixar movies and I think that is sad....

Although I am a child of the yes, 70's.... Maybe I was too old at the time they came out to value there quality. So, I should watch those, let's see if Netflix has those available.........off to check.........
Have seen, Escape to Witch Mountain,(looking forward to seeing the new one) 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Parent Trap (both new and old, however I liked the old one, such charm) The Cat from Outer Space, and several of the live action that I am sure I can't remember the names of at this time.
Cat from Outer Space!! I haven't heard that name in years! LOL I'm gonna have to get that one for the boys to watch!!

Here's another I actually remember seeing in the theater in the '70's:
"Lt. Robin Crusoe, U.S.N.". It starred Dick Van Dyke who got stranded on an island and had a chimp for a companion.
One of my wife's favorites is "A Spaceman in King Arthur's Court" AKA "The Spaceman and King Arthur" AKA "Unidentified Flying Oddball". The last title is how it is listed on Netflix.

No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.

Two of my favorites are Pete's Dragon and The Three Caballeros. Of course now the kids will know about Caballeros because of the Mexican Pavillion in Epcot, but still, it has been a favorite of mine since I first saw it at least 25 years ago.

I guess I just have an affinity towards dragons. Of course I ADORE Figment, and Malificent as a dragon is AWESOME!

I am so glad that someone mentioned Summer Magic! I love any of the classics with Hayley Mills (The Parent Trap especially)...don't forget Pollyanna and In Search of Castaways.
I also love Pete's Dragon, Cat from Outer Space, The old Herbie movies, The Apple Dumpling Gang, Toby Tyler, Tiger Town (haven't seen in years) and Watcher in the Woods (kinda scary as a kid)

Despite having an attraction associated with it, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids has disappeared off the radar screens. Don't know why either. Rick Moranis is pretty funny in it.
I actually think Dumbo gets forgotten, too. No princesses and (more importantly) no villains. Everybody assumes it's for "little kids" when it's actually a really good film.

It really is a great movie. I can rewatch that at least once or twice a year, and still absolutely love it. There is just something about it.timekeeper wrote:I had forgotten about Flight of the naviagator, we watched that as kids. Now I am going to have to make DD watch it with me.
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha
