New Witch Mountain movie

Post by wxwiz » Jan Wed 14, 2009 2:02 am

Saw a billboard about this. Never knew they were making another one. Anyone seen anything else about it? I know Dwane Johnson "The Rock" is in it.

It's called Race to Witch Mountain and I know the girl, AnnaSophia Robb, from the Bridge to Terabithia is the young girl. The original twins, Tia and Tony, make cameos as a waitress and a sheriff so keep a close eye on that.

I am just not sure I am ready for all of the remakes that have been coming out recently from all of the studios. I hope this Witch Mountain movie is well thought out and not just another continuation of a movie franchise. I barely remember the original, so it would be great to see it again. I wish the Disney Channel still had the Vault so I could have a chance to see some of the classics when I am up in the middle of the night with insomnia!

I just watched the original again. It terrified me as a kid, but I really enjoyed it now! Hopefully the new one will be just as good - at least I know the Winnebago will be there!

I am not sure how I feel about this movie. I'll give it a chance though.

I have to agree with missing the Vault on the Disney Channel. I used to love watching that late at night!

Looking forward to seeing this one. Big fan of the originals. We are hoping to take our son for a surprise birthday party when it comes out.

Never saw the first one, probably not going to see this one. Not because I think it to be a bad movie, but because I don't usually go to see Movies in the theater anymore. It is for personal reasons. From the trailers it looks OK, Maybe I will see it later through Netflix, or other sources ;)

So has anyone seen this yet? I just had a customer come in and he butchered the name of the movie. I guess it didn't make that great of an impression on him.

It doesn't come out until the 20th, unless it came out earlier in other countries.

I now see commercials saying that it's now playing. I could have sworn I saw a poster that said the 20th.

IMDb article

kinda small movie poster where the date shows 3/13/09.

Huh. I must have gotten it confused for another movie poster. Thanks for helping me clear it up, js.

I saw the movie last night. It's cute, a good family movie. The kids do a good job and the Rock isn't bad. Love the cameos from the original kids. If you are looking for an entertaining way to kill an hour and forty-five minutes, then go see the movie. If you are looking for a thought-inspiring criticism of the government dealing with extraterrestrial contact, then this is not the movie for you.

LOL!! Definitely not looking for ANYTHING "thought-inspiring" from government.

But I am looking forward to seeing the movie. It grossed $25 million (US) this weekend.
