I didn't like Monsters, Inc. all that much, but Pixar has surprised me in the past.
I like the way Pixar movies are typically about adults, so the grumpy old man thing doesn't bother me at all. (It doesn't hurt that I'm a grumpy old man myself, I guess.)
The trailer actually made me think of Howl's Moving Castle...

This looks pretty good. The only Pixar movies I didn't like were A Bug's Life (I hate bugs, so that's due to no fault of their own!) and The Incredibles, which I just plain didn't like.
Sometimes I feel like Disney's advertising could be done better. Not sure how exactly, but still. I thought based on previews that I would hate Lilo & Stitch, Monsters Inc., and Finding Nemo. I almost didn't even bother to go see them. But I gave each a chance, and I loved all three.
