Links to other Disney sites

Post by disneydreamer58 » Sep Fri 26, 2008 8:59 pm

I was wondering if y'all have favorite Disney sites that you like to visit, other than this site and the ones linked to SSR. I like Miceage.com, Yesterland.com and Mouseplanet.com just to name a few.

I was trying to find some really fun sites to check out (I know there are millions out there) and was wondering if y'all would share yours. I know that some of the members on here have their own Disney sites they have created, I just thought it would be a great place to share our fav sites.

I look forward to any replies :D

funny, I was just going through my favorites today to weed out the dead links (I've had some of these sites favorited for the past 4 years or longer)...

personally, I mostly visit here. but, I also enjoy:

Disney World Trivia
Sorcerer 1 Radio - a competitor radio station on Live365, but with some good stuff going in the community section.
Hidden mickeys - a site I use not only for hidden mickey location, but also fun facts which I'll sometimes use for trivia.
Theme Park Review - a site that not only does Disney, but also other parks from around the world. some of the videos are fun, and funny too...

Jim Hill Media, wdwnewstoday.com, miceage.com and mouseplanet.com are at the top of my list each morning (whether they're accurate or not, I don't know, but hey're fun reads).

As far as more persoonal/opinion blogs go, I sort of have one that I use sporatically (although just to post my youtube videos). I originally had it to keep track of the Disney blogs I read (they're all listed on the right hand side) before I started using RSS.

My favorite Disney blogs are:
If We Can Dream It... http://ifwecandreamit.blogspot.com/ (My #1 favorite)
Passport to Dreams Old and New http://passport2dreams.blogspot.com/
Blue Sky Disney http://blueskydisney.blogspot.com/
Main Street Gazette http://mainstreetgazette.blogspot.com/
ImaiNERDing http://www.imaginerding.com/ (which is basically like the Disney blog hub  )

Anyway... you guys all probably already know about those... I can't wait to see some of the others that people come up with. Here's my blog and youtube, just for kicks (BEWARE: I'm very opinionated)

Electric Lights? http://1983horizons1.blogspot.com/
1983horizons1 http://www.youtube.com/user/1983horizons1

I guess this is also a good place to mention my friend matt's podcat? I'm not into podcasts, but I'm trying to help him out, check it out and see how it is. He's been interviewing quite a few big names. :)

The Disney site I visit the most outside of subsonic is Re-imaginerring. I also enjoy Yesterland and Walt Dated World, but those mainly for the old pictures. I also love Horizons1, it is the best tribute site I have seen in the Disney Universe.

Oh and a side note on Yesterland, they also have articles on non-Disney related stuff. There is actually a tribute to my first employer and high school job, Cypress Gardens in Winter Haven Florida. I haven't been back since they reopened, I am afraid to see what has become of the beautifully landscaped grounds. I have seen from Google Earth that they have expanded the park and used all of the old parking lots. Guests now park in what was employee parking and storage.
They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

Generally, I visit and post here and at Studios Central. I also listen to WDW Today each time they release a new podcast.

Aside from those, I Also visit MousePlanet (for the WDW and DLR updates each week, MiceAge (ditto) and Theme Park Review.

Occasionally (if I'm desperate to see if I can find something), I'll look at places like WDWMagic, but I usually avoid a lot of the "communities" for the simple reason that there seems to be a lot of "our site is better than anyone else's" going on, and it just p*** me off. (I'll save the rest of that rant for another day...)

Now, those are the sites I actually type into my address bar when needs be. There are, however, a lot of sites/blogs that are in my RSS reader for Disney stuff, which are (in no particular order): The Backside of Water, Disneytheque (French), WED Enterprises, The Disney Blog, Blue Sky Disney, ImagiNerding, 2719 Hyperion, Subsonic Radio (Yes, we have an RSS feed), DLP.info, DLRP Today, Mousekingdom Blog, Re-Imagineering, HKDL Source, Distant Creations, Jim Hill Media (With a pinch of salt...), Orlando Attractions Magazine, Stuff from the Park, The View from Scopa Towers, Vintage Disneyland Tickets and ScreamScape.

So there you have it. My link spamming for the day.

This is my favorite site for Disney.

My second favorite is Disney World Trivia for the great random facts it has.
For pictures I really like www.disneypix.com. They have not had an update for quite some time now, but they offer some great past and present pictures.
I have also looked at allears.net and hiddenmickeys.org.
