Toon Disney
I used to love Toon Disney. It was a channel I always watched when I was stuck in the resort at Disney World (in the 90's). When my parents finally agreed to get the Comcast package with Toon Disney I was ecstatic. That was some time ago, in 2003. I haven't watched it since and it's for one reason only.
Instead of the 1 Saturday Morning and classics lineup that used to be featured on that channel all they have is Jetix. I'm not even sure this is "Disney" oriented. Power Rangers, Iron Man, Spider Man, etc. That's not Disney. They feature Jetix for the most part of the day and some of the cartoons i used to watch are featured in the morning. But now those are being replaced by the Replacements and Brandy and Mr.Whiskers.
I'm P.O.(ed)! I believe that Jetix needs to be it's own channel or something else you need to subscribe to. This is so upsetting that I can't watch any of my old favs.
Also, Comcast has the OnDemand feature and they only have House of Mouse (which is considered fine to me) and the rest is like Kim Possible and Spider Man.
If anyone else agrees that this isn't fair; POST IT HERE!

Disney-related has nothing to do with Disney-OWNED. in case you haven't noticed, in recent years, the ownership of the Walt Disney Company has developed a "here -and-now" mentality. Spider-man and Iron Man are big right now, and Disney bought the rights for them. as such, they will capitalize on it. Power Rangers, while not AS popular as the other 2 brands, is still fairly big with the younger crowds. and the younger crowds are the future of the Disney company.earningmyfins wrote:I'm not even sure this is "Disney" oriented. it sucks, it's sad. but this has been going on like this for at LEAST 10 years (if not longer). Eisner did a doozy before leaving.

I would rather it be a separate channel!

I have to say that I, too, miss the classic cartoons. What I'd propose is that Disney create a "Disney Classics" station, much as Cartoon Network has created their classic cartoon station "Boomerang." I have a son who really enjoys the Jetix stuff, albeit a little over-violent for my preference sometimes. I simply monitor what he's able to watch, and we go from there.
All my television-watching family (wife and two boys, ages 3 and 6) enjoys the classic cartoons, though. Simply, I think there's room for both - just ensure the channel with Jetix takes all the Hanna Montana and HSM stuff with it!!

TCM on Sundays are running tons of Disney Classics. This past Sunday I watched (all back to back) Swiss Family Robinson, 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, Pollyanna, Parent Trap and the Barefoot Executive. I just happened to be channel surfing and came across it. I missed a lot but those are the ones I caught. Needless to say I was up until 2am! Kinda hard to get up when the alarm rang at 7am because I had to go to work. I am definately going to watch again this Sunday to see what they have in the line up. I think they are doing it all month, but I would have to go to their website to check. I hope it wasn't just last Sunday
