How "Disneyed" is your home and property?

Post by Jacca5660 » Oct Thu 25, 2007 1:56 pm

How Disneyed is your home and property? It's going to take a while for me to answer my own post. How bad is it at your place? This includes inside and out. Just take a mental snap shot right now. If you're anything like we are it changes with the seasons and holidays.

only thing Disney that we have outside is a flag we got from WDW. it's Mickey dressed like a pirate, and above him it says "Yo Ho, A Pirates Life For Me!" got it from the PotC gift shop.

now, indoors, the only room that's any degree of Disney would be my bedroom. I have serveral shotglasses, a Disney "frosty mug" (not used), a pair of Mickey ears from WDW I got when I was 6, a couple of pictures, a Sid's Create-a-Toy creation from DisneyQuest, and a couple of books. Oh, and can't forget my planning file folder chock full of planning materials or the desktop wallpapers on my computer

I will let you all know and see my place after I get it done. So far the only Disney thing I have in the house is that in the Bathroom we have bathroom loops playing. That is all I have gotten done so far, but I have a ton more to do. I plan on a Tiki room, and Haunted Mansion style room (most likely MY bedroom), and other stuff. This will take a long while but I WILL get it done, as the mouse is my witness.

I don't have Disney Merchandise adorning my house but the park has influenced my design. We have a TV room we are decorating for a ski lodge atmosphere, a living room that will have a ship theme, a kitchen that is under renovation right now (new stainless appliances) which we are going with a French Cafe theme, a basement Dart room that will have a Sherwood Forest/British Pub feel once complete, with a styrofoam/papermache' tree in the room! last night i changed out two chandeliers, man they were ugly brass things...laugh i'll post some before and in process pics later. gotta run and put lights on my house and wrap the swamp coolers.

You'd mostly know we're Disney fans by the amount of personal framed pictures we have around the house from our trips. We're not big knick-knack collectors, but one of our Christmas trees is very Disneyfied - I'm a big collector of Disney ornaments from the parks and resorts.

One of my daughter's friends on coming over to our house for a sleepover for the first time a few years ago and after looking at all our photos asked "Are you guys Disney people, or what?"

Yes, young lady. Yes! :D

At one point, we had over 70 Figment items in our home, from the PVC figures to the ceramic type, all sorts of plush... of course, Figment was very important and instrumental to our family, so...!

These days, we don't have as much out, but we don't have as much "anything" out either. Minimized, I guess. My daughter's room (casrin) still has the Mickey wallpaper border going around the room. She doesn't want to take it down. She used to have more figurines out but now they're still boxed from when we didn't move. That's a long story though...

Well, not as much as the rest of you Disney fans but I have the back room in our house as my "den" area. It's where I put all my Disney stuff. Right now it has on the walls, posters for The Mad Tea Party ride, The Haunted Mansion Ride, Big Thunder Mountain ride, and two of my personal maps from Disneyworld.com. I also have a MK 25th anniversary poster on the wall, and two small posters from AK and MGM with a related quote from Disney himself on them. Also a poster of the time line of Disney animated films up until Mulan.

Next I have an I4 mickey ear sign and the poster of the villains. Then I have two travel promo posters. One for the Princess and Prince plan, and the other is a promo for Innoventions. I then have a frame my sister made for me for my birthday that has Mickey standing on the bottom left corner. I put a pic of the castle in it. Then I have three snow globes, and a shelf with the McDonalds Disney happy meal Disney characters with their created dates. (Boy was it tough to collect some of these because I don't have kids)

Lastly, I have three other disney frames with no pics in them yet. I have more posters but no frames yet. Wheeew. I think that covers it.

I don't think there is enough time in the day to describe how "Disneyed" our home and property is. Lets just say its in every room, yes every.

Sub can vouch for it :)

The curtains are authentic from Dixie Landings purchased from Mousesurplus.com

Oh my gosh, I LOVE the bathroom loops! My family would die!!

At my house, Disney movie posters and Disney stock in the basement with our hundreds of movies, (mostly Disney) Our kitchen has our Silhouettes and frames from all our trips and salt and pepper shakers and plates and mugs and collectibles. In the Living Room - has my piece of the Matterhorn and my Honeymoon and Wedding Mickey and Minnie statues. Our bedroom has Disney stuff throughout. As well as my baby's Winnie bedroom and our extra bedroom. We have a set of Mickey and Minnie beanies for every month of the year and I have about 40 antenna toppers. Oh my, the more I think about it, we've just scratched the surface!

Every room/car/holiday I decorate for, has Disney touches - there is no beginning, there is no end; and yes it is a sickness, but I enjoy every minute of it!!!
