One of the best things about Disney animated films is the classic music and songs. Sometimes they make you smile, sometimes they make you laugh, sometimes the are tear jerkers. All of them have that magic touch that let you will always remember. Of the following... which is your favorite and why?

"...it was all started by a mouse."
---Walter Elias Disney

From that list, mine is "You Can Fly" from Peter Pan... some notable songs not on your list...

"Once Upon A Dream" - Sleeping Beauty (my actual all-time favorite)
"I Just Can't Wait To Be King" - The Lion King
"In the Golden Afternoon" - Alice in Wonderland
"Some Day My Prince Will Come" - Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

"When You Wish Apon A Star" and "You Can Fly" are ties in my head for a favorite. :)

I don't count some of those others as 'classics' though. If they are less than 10 yrs old, they're not classic yet. Hehe.

I voted "When You Wish Apon A Star" because I think it is the song that most represents Disney to me.

Also some of the songs (ie Aladdin, Herc, Tarzan, Lion King songs) while really good songs don't qualify as Classic Disney songs yet. When I think classic Disney I think back to the original movies that got Disney to where it is today! But that's just my opinion...lol

Oh I know it. I figure I'll start group II very soon with more classic songs! I just didn't want to put too many to chose from.

Of those, I would choose When You Wish Upon a Star. Beauty and the Beast is a second.

The first is such a classic, and really defines what Disney is to the dreamers and the young at heart. When I hear those classic notes, there' just a swell of emotion that rises up. I'm not too keen on the Jiminy Cricket version, but it's just a great song.

The latter song, I don't know, but just accompanied with the visuals of Belle looking just as her namesake, and meeting with the Beast at the bottom of the staircase, and the ballroom scene makes me go "awww".

Circle of Life... This song and both the movie and broadway show have sentimental value to me and my family and it gets me teary eyed when I hear it. The lyrics are wonderful and everything about the song is true. (Whether it be a metaphor for life, or the real African Sarengeti). I like the broadway version much more than the movie version however.

You Can Fly get smy vote here. Love Peter Pan.

I was sad not to see any Robin Hood tracks on any of the lists. :( The Whistle Stop / Oo De Lally would have gotten my vote, as it's my favorite track, as would have Phoney King of England, and that romantic song. More Robin Hood!

Hard to pick one out of these. There are several I'd want on my perfect Disney music CD. I ended up picking Go the Distance because the words are some of the most moving and inspirational (at least to me). :mickey:
