Interesting read. I like photo comparisons like that. I am interested in how often or what percentage of animated features are duplicated animation. Both for Disney and non-Disney studios.

Very interesting. It would obviously save time to reference other work like that. I don't know why, and I'm most likely wrong, but some of the pictures seemed somewhat faked (such as the last two pictures). I'll have to watch the films again to see the comparison.

Now that is interesting! Can't blame them for using what they can with the many frames that it requires to produce an animated film.

Interesting stuff. I wouldn't agree that Maid Marion is a copy of Snow White in those sequences (i.e. "reused animation"), as much as she was obviously referenced. There are slight differences in the positioning of the head and hands that'd suggest to me they weren't just tracing, but eyeballing the new drawings.
I guess it's not hurting anything. Probably not a bad way for some of the younger animators to learn how the old fellas did it when they had to draw every frame. (Or for the old fellas to not have to reinvent the wheel

Wow... I remember noticing a lot of the older movies borrowed a lot from Jungle Book, but I had no idea they did it as often as this site shows.
Two more Jungle Book references that I remember that weren't listed are monkey that was reused in Bedknobs and Broomsticks and the scene where Shere Kan scares the deer is used two more times, once in Bambi and once at the begining of Sword in the Stone. and if I remember correctly, Kaa falls from a tree twice in the movie and the animation is almost exact. I'm sure they did that both for entertainment value and saving animation time. Speaking of Kaa, he does also resemble Sir Hiss from Robin Hood.
edit: After remembering the Disney animation timeline, the deer footage is actually reused from Bambi in the The Jungle Book, rather than reused from The Jungle Book. oops lol
