Hey,
Are there any other High School Musical fans here? My daughter who is soon to be 8 has got me hooked, and we are waiting for the release of the new movie to premier Aug 17 as part of Disney Channels SO HOT SUMMER. Just wondering if anyone else has been caught up in the madness of High School Musical.

My older son (DSs 14 And 13) loves that movie. My DW and him have tried to learn all the dance moves. The 14 year old is in the Chorus at school. The 13 year old is learning to play the SAX.

Oddly enough, considering that the Disney Channel is pretty much the only channel in our house, I have never seen all of High School Musical. My nieces and nephew (ages 5-11) love it, though.

My daughters (7 1/2 and almost 5) and I are looking forward to #2 coming out.
My 17- year-old cousin was in a community production of High School Musical a couple of months ago. She played the "science girl who likes hip hop" and did a wonderful job. The girls sat on the front row and my youngest asked when "Maddie" (referring to the character from "Zack and Cody" on the Disney Channel) was going to wear the blue dress and I said "who?" and she said "You know, Ashley Tisdale!" She thought they were the real people! It was so cute! Afterwards kids were lined up to get autographs and pictures!

My son, 4, loves the music and the basketballs. Everytime we see the advertisement he asks how much longer.

My daughter is hooked and I've seen the original, which she has on DVD, quite a few times. I know she's very excited about HM2.

I just watched the first one and was shocked how much I liked it. I didn't think it would be a movie that I would enjoy but the songs have been stuck in my head for the past week now.

Now that it is just a little over a week away before the premier, my daughter is giddy with delight. I sure hope it is as good or better then the first one. I have faith in Disney! Oh yes my daughter is even having a viewing party for this movie. We are all ready for this next wave of HSM excitement.

I have never seen High School Musical but it sounds fun. I really enjoy musicals in general, so would you all recommend it?

Unfortunately, I don't have the Disney Channel. No cable here. *sighs* Anyway, but you guys said the first one is on DVD? Maybe I'll watch it then.

We are having a viewing party as well. Our daughter who is 7 just loves HSM and got us both hooked. Our son who is 2 loves the movie. It is one of only a very few things he will watch on tv. He loves "Get Your Head in the Game."
We have high expectations for HSM2. If you get TV Guide, there is an extensive article for next week about the actors and director and future of the HSM franchise.

The best part about my leaving for college next week is that I'm going to miss the constant replaying of HSM2 next weekend. My younger sisters are nuts about it and I can't stand it at all.

Saw it. My first impression was that it was just okay. The numbers seemed really forced and they weren't too catchy. I did like that one "I don't dance" song.
"A pirate in irons be full o' guile.
And the blackest 'art wears the broadest smile."
Oh, and "Welcome Home."
