I was looking around the On Demand stations today and found something interesting on Food Network On Demand. It's a Food Netowrk Challenge involving a giant popcorn sculpture. The most interesting part - It's being made in Disneyland and the sculpture is a giant Sorcerer Mickey. If you have Food Network On Demand, or can find this on broadcast on Food Network, I recommend checking out. Some of the best pastry chefs in the world are helping to build this and break a Guiness World Record.

It happened a few years ago and actually was at California Adventure. The Food Network show about it is really great.

Food Network challenge seems to like to do stuff at Disney World. I've seen the do several theme shows Princesses, Villains, and 50th are all ones I remember. I think they have done a few others.

The villains one was great. That Captain Hook cake was perfect.
Sometimes watching these, I think it'd be cool to be there when they're filming one to get into the audience. Then I consider that you'd have to sit there 7 hours (or however long that particular challenge is), and it doesn't seem so cool anymore.

I've been trying to find out where you find out when and where those challenges are...because I could see planning a trip down there for one.
I saw pies last night and that was being held at Cellibration FL.

I, personally, wouldnt want to be in the audience, but i would like to be one of the pastry chefs making the different creations. I want to go into the culinary arts when i graduate high school, so i think that would be really cool, but it would take lots of practice!!

I saw this on TV a while back. It was amazing. But, I am a sucker for these cooking competitions.

Thanks for the heads up! I watch the Food network for at least an hour a day (whoo whoo shoutout to Giada and Paula Dean y'all) and I did watch the challenge for the Princess cakes. It's amazing that what they can sculpt with cake.
