Disney Wedding Dresses

Post by Esmeralda » Mar Wed 07, 2007 1:00 pm

I saw a blurb in my newspaper today about Disney designing princess wedding dresses. Now any bride can be just like Cinderella or Belle or Ariel on her wedding day, even if she doesn't go to Disney World to be married. The dream dresses will cost $1,100 to $3,000.

It's an intriguing idea to be sure. Has anyone seen pictures? I believe the official release is this June.

Hadn't heard of this, but I like the idea. I should imagine the Cinerella ball gown would be a particularly good chioce for a wedding dress. Just imagine wearing that at the wedding pavilion in the Grand Floridian. Fairtytale wedding or what! :)

Whenever I was opening the Ariel Wedding dresses in the stock room, I kept thinking about making a dress like that for my wedding, if I ever get married.

If they design them just like in the movie, I would love a Disney wedding dress.

the SR recommended news source by our own acp, addlema, rdeacon, and sysfail had a story about the dresses on February 28th (you have to click the older posts link at the bottom of the screen, or just Click Here, for the story, which includes a picture and links to view a news article on the new venture.

I suppose I should have pointed out that those aren't the actual Disney wedding dresses in the picture.. The picture is just the princesses (for the interested, it's from Dream Along with Mickey in the Magic Kingdom)

Andy. Still me.

But, as the newspaper articles point out, the wedding dresses are done in the style of the dresses the princesses wear, so they should be fairly similar

in any case, we will probably be seeing shots of the actual dresses coming up soon. I'd expect them soon-ish, anyways

Indeed. I chose that photo because it shows the princess dresses, and is likely to be a fairly good representation given that the wedding ones are based upon them :)

I'll keep an eye out for any more info on the wedding ones and if something comes up I'll post it on the blog :)

Andy.

My budget for my daughters wedding has just gone up by about 20K! There goes a few years off the retirement fund!

I am just trying to push my family to beleive in the Fairy Tale Wedding in WDW. If I get that when I get married, then I'll be happy.

Here's the link to the dress designs.

I like a couple of the Sleeping Beauty designs, but am otherwise not totally impressed. I was hoping for just a little more hints of the princesses. If I saw someone wearing one of those, I would just think it's a normal wedding dress, nothing special.

Some of them are pretty but I have to agree I don't look at many of them and think "Oh that must be inspired by *princess name here*" The color of some of the Belle ones does, a little bit.

They're pretty but I don't think of them as particularly 'Disney'.

The dresses are really beautiful. There were two I liked, one from the Cinderella collection and the other from the Belle Collection. It makes me wish I were getting married! :ariel:
