I went and checked out the Space Mountain entry on Wikipedia... and look what I found:

Good ol' Wikipedia. Authoritative, for sure!

Wow. That's pretty bad. I've never really run into errors so blatant like that.

Disney should have its own wiki site.

I have. I edit wiki pages quite frequently. People love to vandalize and see what they can get away with.

Yah the vandals are pretty big in some of the pages, they should lock them and only have registered long time users Edit pages.

Actually I don't edit Wikipedia as a rule. I don't actually agree with the anyone-can-edit encyclopedia format, and I feel like this is what you get when you allow that.

I also don't vandalize, and I almost never use what I find there without verifying it elsewhere first.

So no, I didn't touch anything. Someone else could, of course, but I refuse (as silly as that may sound to some)

Too bad the idiot that did that could not use his creativity for good and not evil. I mean, some people have WAAAAYYYYYY toooooo mmmmmuuuuuucccccchhhhhhh time on their hands to think about messing around with a Wikipedia entry for SM.

For those that are not aware:
If you find a wiki page with vandalism on it, you can revert the page back to its' pre-vandalism state without ever having to type things back in or delete the vandalism line-by-line. Click on "edit" and select the most recent version of the page that did not have the vandalism on it, then enter a reason why in the box underneath.

It Does make you wonder! We aren't allowed to use Wiki as a reference in my graduate classes. I wonder why your sister's classes allow that as a resource knowing that anyone, anywhere can add/delete/change the pages.

Hmmmm Homeschooling for my (evenutal) children is looking better and better.

It's entirely possible the teacher(s) in question do not know that.

I think that anyone who sites Wiki as a source in a report or study is just asking for trouble. The fact that some teachers are allowing it only supports the current liberal mindset of "everyone is right" and "there are no wrong answers". I think this is a bad message to be sending to our children. Especially while they are supposed to be learning. I can see maybe sighting Wiki as an interesting addition or a sidenote but to consider it a trusted and reliable source is just a mistake.

I don't think that's a "liberal mindset"... I'm very liberal, and think that anyone who believes that there aren't objective facts in the world is a moron, not a liberal... of course, the other side of that coin is the "I am right" and "everyone else has wrong answers" that defines certain elements of conservatism these days...

Wow, I can't believe it took a whole week to get a rise out of someone with that comment!

I agree with you on both counts. Sorry, I guess I listen to too much Rush. I don't have ANY answers, only opinions and we know what those are worth now days...
