Disney Movies Now on iTunes!

Post by indysoarin19 » Sep Thu 14, 2006 11:38 pm

Two days ago, Apple announced that they are offering Disney movies on the iTunes Store. Movies can be bought for anywhere from $9.99 (Pirates 1 is available at this price) to $12.99 (Cars pre-order, Little Mermaid pre-prder and The Incredibles to name a few at this price). Most of the movies are very recent but a couple of classics are available (Cinderella, Fox in the Hound, Dumbo). One glaring omission: No Chronicles of Narnia. Movies only take up a gig or two, but can take 30-60 minutes to download. Despite the long download time, you can begin to view the movie three minutes into the download and each movie is equipped with chapters, like on DVD.

This looks like it'll be a great deal for Disney. Let the movie downloading begin!

Also, for those of you who like the show Grey's Anatomy, I thought I read somewhere that ABC will add it to iTunes within a month or so. Unfortunately, I could not find the article.

An article about the Disney movies on iTunes is right here.

I absoultely love iTunes and my iPod - I've not downloaded video yet from iTunes yet, though. It's more about the music for me.

bdinger, my friend downloads episodes of "Lost" and "The Office" routinely onto his iPod and the quality is very very good. You can view episodes on your computer via the iTunes program.

I just found it and I think it is pretty cool.

You can buy it on Itunes and DL it. I wonder is this really what we'll be doing in the future? If I had more Bandwidth this may be reasonable, I mean I can stream Videos from my Home PC through my 2 tivos and my Xbox's Could we really get rid of DVD's all together? And if we can would our Cable company not allow such DL's to make sure we buy through them. I would love to here some Input
