I loved the first Narnian movie and have been reading the whole series. Does anyone know if Disney plans to release a second movie based on the book Prince Caspian?

I haven't heard - loved the first movie and it was an enormous hit so I would bet something is in the works!

I thought the second movie was in the works, and scheduled to open 07 or 08. No clue as to which novel they're going to do.

Prince Caspian was one of my favorite novels of the series.

Trilogy? Chronicles of Narnia is made of 7 novels, if I remember correctly.

Seven sounds right, but they'll never make A Horse And His Boy... the political/social climate just doesn't take too kindly to the caricaturing of entire races by their stereotypes like it did in the 50s.

Seven is right. I'm reading A Horse and His Boy right now, and you're right about the racial issues in that one. Is there a way around it?

As for the movies, Caspian is next and will be released Summer 2008, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com. As for what's after that, I hope it's Dawn Treader, but it may be the Last Battle because of the kids' age.

Thanks for the info indysoarin19! I do hope they'll do them in order, just because it seems to make the most sense. I've acually only read through The Horse and His Boy, but so far I've enjoyed each of them.

I would also like the movies to be released in chronological order. Those kids are getting older, and it would look weird if Last Battle was filmed with the same children that starred in the first one later down the line. Waaay waay down. But then only a year or two passes in our world, so they would still look the same.

I think I enjoyed Caspian and Last Battle the most. And Silver Chair the least.

I loved Dawn Treader, personally.

Hmmm... if they do prince Caspian they might have to add a lot to it, personally I thought that book was a little rushed and uneventful compared to the others. I've heard that The Horse and His Boy is most definitley out and they are deabating whether to make The Magician's Nephew (which I'm really sad about because that one and The Last Battle were my favorite and tie into each otehr so much)

I would like to see the Magician's Nephew. After reading the first few books, it makes the Narnia universe make more sense. The reader is like, "Oh, wow!" But then the most important events in that novel could be referred to if they make The Last Battle.

I'd like to see all of them, though I wasn't a fan of the Silver Chair myself. I finally finished the series!

I have a question about the Last Battle. Everything made sense in the end and it all seemed to turn out pretty well, so that made me happy. Peter, Lucy, Edmund and their parents arrived in Aslan's land, but what ever happened to Susan? Was she stuck in our world because she didn't believe?

I never really got into the metaphorical or philosophical side of Narnia. But yeah, Susan remains here in our world because she didn't believe any longer. Which is sad, considering what took place. But perhaps she might go there someday.
