Disney Ringtones?

I just got a "new" phone (my husband's old phone), and would like to change the ringtone from his Eagles fight song to something more to my liking... Disney.

Do you know of any legitimate (i.e. not full of spyware & viruses) sites to download Disney ringtones?

Can't say I know of any... in the past I've made my own by using tracks I ripped to my computer off of the 6-disc Disneyland 50th music box set, and cutting them to short bits with a free audio editing program like Audacity... all legit/legal, and I did it myself so I got just what I wanted. I have MP3 ringtone-length versions of "How Do You Do" from Splash Mountain, "Grim Grinning Ghosts" and "Yo Ho Yo Ho"... all pulled straight from ride audio tracks off those official CDs.

I may be willing to share... but it will take some time for me to find the originals or get the MP3s back off my phone and on to my computer...

I'm an idiot... after posting this, I did a search on Disney Ringtones, and found out how to do it for my phone...

I ended up downloading three songs - It's a Small World, Fantasmic, and Hakuna Matata...

They had "Yo Ho Pirate's Life" - but it just wasn't right. That and "Grim Grinning Ghosts".

I've found lots of ringtones on the Cingular website. I have "Under the Sea". I wish I got more calls so I hear it more often.

Please tell us more on how you did this. I have Cool Edit Pro and Audio Grabber. I also have my cassette player ran through my compuetr. To make something a ring tone does it have to be an MP3? or can it be a wav? Is it better to use the MP3 format for the compression? Is there a better format? What are the time limitations on a Ring Tone?

The limitations on ringtones depend entirely on your own phone. If your phone can play MP3s (sometimes called "RealTones" or something by your phone co), then you'd use MP3s... if, however, you play only the polyphonic ringtones that until recently were the standard (they sounds like up to 16 different beeps at a time that adds up to a melody... sorta) it is VERY difficult to convert the real audio content of an MP3/WAV/ACC/WMA/etc to the polyphonic format... what you would need to load on your phone would be a MIDI file (.mid)

If your phone plays MP3s, then use AG to snag the track you want from the music CD of your choice, use CoolEdit (or audacity, which I prefer) to cut down to just the part you want (stay under 30 seconds as longer than that is a waste of space, and be sure to push the bitrate to 96-128kbps) and load the MP3 on your phone as you will (bluetooth dongle, USB data cable, etc... my phone has a TransFlash memory card and I load files directly on to that)

Thank you for all the info!! I'm upgrading to a PDA Phone for work. Now I'm gping to have to find one that Plays MP3s. I was trying to avoid having a "look how much worthles stuff my phone does", phone. It's a phone, if I wanted an entertainment center, I'd be at home!!!!!!!! I should start a poll to see how many people watch stuff on their phone. I'm 46, to tell the truth, I can't see the picture very well anyway!!!!!

Your phone only does worthless stuff if it does stuff you don't use. I use my phone as an MP3 player, I've upgraded its web browser to Opera Mini, and I use the bluetooth feature for in-car handsfree use.

And yeah, every once in a while, I watch stuff on it. But not much, because I don't have one of those cool services like VCast or CingularTV.

I just use midi files (downloaded online and then sent via Bluetooth to my Razr). I have: Under the Sea, The Wonderful Thing About Tiggers, The Tiki Room, One Little Spark, There's A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow, It's A Small World, Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life For Me), Grim Grinning Ghosts, Haunted Mansion Foyer Music, Star Wars Theme, Star Wars Imperial March... and Margaritaville.

all as polyphonic midis? Why? Your RAZR can play MP3-based "real audio" can't it?

I have a Razr and if you get the Motorola Phone Tools software it has a great MP3 ringtone creator. You can go straight off a CD or use one of the mp3s you have already on your computer and edit it, crop sections, fade in and out. I've created a bunch for my phone. No Disney ring tones though. Also if you have a nokia phone they have some pretty good ring tone creation software. For my last 2 nokia phones I was able to create polyphonic ring tones from midi and mp3 files and transfer them to the phone via usb cables that plugged into the standard nokia connction port on the bottom of the phone.

I think Motorola phone tools only works on Windows and I have a Mac. I've also had no luck getting an MP3 to my Razr via Bluetooth.

I think you may be right about Motorola phone tools. Not sure why you're having problems transfering via bluetooth. I used the bluetooth connection to sync with MPT and set everything else. I wonder if "The Missing Sync" makes a software for linking the Razr to Macs? I know they do for a few other devices like Pocket PCs and PSPs and Palms.
