There is talk that Pirates will break the All Time Opening Weekend mark currently owned by Spiderman. What do you think and once you've seen Pirates 2 let us know what you think. No Spoilers please.

I voted for Between 100 Million and 110 Million for Opening Weekend. I think it looks great myself and can't wait to see it. I'll be there at Midnight tomorrow night to check it out.

I think it could break triple digits.

Well the Washington Post didn't care for the film (though, to be fair, I don't care for the Washington Post)

What do we want in a sequel? Just a little taste of the original or a triple serving piled high? "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" opts for the latter. This Disney movie isn't a follow-up to 2003's "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" so much as its empty-calorie clone.

Ah, but there is one crucial difference: Where the first movie crackled from the tension between Johnny Depp's edgy character and the Disney movie he was in, the sequel's a comparatively lifeless exercise.

I wouldn't say it did as good opening weekend as i thought it would have, but it's still done oevr $110 million domestic since it's release 1 week ago, so I definatly wouldn't call it a flop. I just don't know if Pirates will break $100 million either. It just doesn't seem like as many people are going to the movies any more. Too expensive, and now with commercials before the movie, it almost doesn't seem worth it. On a side note, I really liked Superman. I thought it was very well done, reminded me of the first one a lot.

Yeah we are going tonight (Midnight) to see it (For free though) and then tomorrow night to the drive-in. Can't wait to see it. I've seen both sides on the reviews. Some Loved it, some didn't like it at all. Kind of like Superman's reviews and I really enjoyed Superman.

I will be braving the crowds and to see this one. The last movie I saw IN the theater was Austin Powers: Goldmember. I'm not a big fan of spending nearly $10 to see a movie I could buy for that later for the same. I also don't like it because I'm NOT allowed to talk during the theater versions, but if I have it at home I can say "did you see that".

I saw Superman and was only mildly impressed. I hope Pirates beats it in terms of likability and box office gross. I'm going to a late night show Friday.

Well I'm just back from seeing Pirates and I give it a thumbs up. While I don't think it's as good as the first I do think it's worth seeing! I won't give anything away, but Depp is amazing once again!

Good news from overseas, Pirates 2 has smashed the opening day UK box office numbers by bringing in 2.3 million pounds in one day... the previous record was X-Men 3 with just over 1 million pounds its first day:
