Yeah, I couldn't believe it either.

It would probably be good for their economy.... What do you think about this?

It would just be one more (like Hong Kong) that I'd have no interest in going to... I still want to see DLP and TDL at some point, because Paris and Tokyo intrigue me on their own... I don't think I'd spend the money to see Mickey in Kuala Lampur

It makes you wonder: How many Disneylands is too many? Is there such a thing? Does the magic get dilluted with each new park? I think if each has something unique then they're worh it - although I selfishly wish they'd put all the resources into building any new attractions they think of here in the U.S. where I can easily get to them.

 I don't know how I feel...if they make it unique like Tokyo or Paris, then maybe...but if it ends up like Hong Kong...ugh

I would rather they stop expanding outside of the US. I understood a couple to broaden the appeal, but to me enough is enough. I personally wish they would just put the money into the parks here in the US (Disney World in particular).

I'd much rather see capital investments in the stateside parks.

Or even Paris's Studios park...Disney used to perfect things before moving on, now they just move on and perfect it afterward

Hmmm, this would make Florida look like a "cool and dry" park. Ugh.

From what I understand, in the parks outside the US the funding is from companies in those countries. Oriental Land Co., for example, "owns" Tokyo Disneyland and "leases" the Disney rides, themes, characters, etc.

John Frost says no-go in Malaysia, and quotes his source thusly:
"We are constantly exploring opportunities around the world as we look to grow our parks and resorts business. At this time, however, there are no existing discussions in Malaysia and we currently have no plans for a Disney-branded resort development in that country," Lisa Haines, worldwide public affairs vice president for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, said in a statement.

I would have no desire to see DL Malaysia! Disney needs to concentrate on the parks they have, I mean enough is enough already!

Monies should be spent fixing up the parks down here in Florida.

Actually, the stateside park in the most need of help has to be California Adventure. While there are a couple good reasons to check it out (Tower of Terror, Soarin' Over California, California Screamin', Monsters Inc., Muppet-Vision, Grizzly River Run) it is still a half-day park, and the themeing is in no way up to par for Disney... much more Six Flags-like than any other stateside park.

I agree, although I still think it is a step up from Six Flags Magic Mountain in theming.
