Idea for Circlevision 360

Movies, TV, music, and more. Here's the place to talk about anything Disney outside of the parks.

Idea for Circlevision 360

Post by Fantasrick » Apr Fri 28, 2006 11:49 am

I was thinking about this idea today. I really love the circlevision movies that the Disney theme parks have, but the theaters are so uncomfortable as all there are are lean rails and no seats. So i thought about the ride Buzz Lightyear's space ranger spin and thought about the rotating seats on the ride. If they could come up with a way of introducing the rotating seats in the circlevision theaters then it would be much cooler to watch the movie and be able to recline and rotate to see the whole screen.

The capacity would be so much less. But, that would have great potential as a simulator. With LED screens, they wouldn't need projectors and could potentially build, not just around you, but above you as well. And, there wouldn't need to be gaps between the screens for the projectors.

This is the kind of forward thinking Disney needs to do.

That would be totally cool, an all surrounding circlevision film including the ceiling. I just hope that wouldn't be too disorienting. As for limiting theater capacity, I am sure they can find ways to maximize space by designing the seats to be pretty compact.

It would be like a combination of Mission to Mars and Circlevision.
